I was trying to get her to see how important it was to get the baby to the vet. If I hurt her feeling, I'm not sorry , just a responsible owner. This was her first time here, and has had her 3 months, guess she hasn't needed anyones input until and emergency came up.. that's my opionion... Sharon |
To the original poster, hopefully you are at the vet emergency with your baby. We all care and can't stress enough how important it is to act fast. Please check back in and let us know how she is doing when you have a chance |

We all like to think we are responsible owners. Accidents happen, and this is what it was. An accident . To the OP, I hope you are going to the Vet with your puppy. This little baby needs emergency care in order to have a fighting chance of survival. If it says she is online, she may not be... Just left it on YT , and is gone out the door! Gosh I hope SO. Take care of your little puppy, he/she is counting on you! |
OMG PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get her to the emergency vet right now! :( I understand where YorkieOwned5 is coming from... although it may have sounded mean she is just VERY worried about Lucy and wants her to be okay!!! So please don't be upset about it. We are just all very worried about your little girl. PLEASE keep us updated. I will be praying for Lucy. :( |
omg I will be praying for her too...Please keep us posted... |
It is so important that you get your puppy to the vet. If you have any doubt how serious of a situation this is there is a story here about Teagan. He was stepped on at first he was able to walk but with time his injury because worse until he was not able to stand, walk, and was surrendered to rescue because he needed surgery to reattach the ligament that was severed in his spine. His former owner waited almost 8 weeks before surrendering him and it almost cost him the ability to ever walk again. Please take him to the ER vet to be seen. Time is of the essence with a spinal injury and sometimes the severity will not show up immediately. Just because he seems to be sleeping and fine now does not mean he will be that way in a few hours or even tomorrow. :( |
Well hopefully she's at that vets right now...i'll be checking in for updates on this little one... |
OMG, enough with the slamming already. It was a accident. Maybe she was online looking for ER in her area. Either way, sometimes people literally go into denial when not wanting to believe what could happen. She was scared enough to go online to find a answer and she came here. She found US. Personally, I don't allow people to talk to me like that without giving it right back. She won't be back now, although I hope she does. Poster, if you're reading this, please do a follow up with us and let us at least know how she is doing. I know you are scared. I will give you a example of why everyone is concerned. Sometimes, even when a adult gets hurt, it can be more major than first thought. Take a person who has a fall and bangs their head. They might not even get knocked out but has a headache. They go to the doctor and find out they have bleeding on the brain and needs immediate surgery to drain off pressure. So sometimes things can turn out worse than we originally thought. Plus our fur baby can't talk to us so we just can't diagnose what may/might be wrong. So important for the vet to speak for the puppy. Good luck and I do hope she was maybe stepped on like one poster said, where sometimes you can step on their paw and they'll screammmmm. But even that can cause damage that our eyes can't see. Let us know, ok Carol and Jemma |
Sending prayers to you and your little one.... |
Hoping all is well If you read this, please let us know how things are. Hopefully all is well and your little one is having a great day right now. If anything is wrong, believe it or not, you can get a LOT of support here. I know that some posters were harsh...we'll chalk that up to the late hour and the # of babies we've seen die after a freak accident. I hope we hear from you soon. |

Nice post - and same to Jemma I read some of the replies and wow - Yes if a dog is stepped on and lethargic, a vet visit is priority ...but bashing someone isn't going to help - I think we've all had an accidental step and made our dog yelp - I hope Lucy is ok |
Sorry but I have to say something here. When posts like this happen this is what deters people from wanting to post on forums to get help. You can gently nudge someone to bring their pups to the vets you don't need to be so harsh. I know if it was me that just recieved this post I would tell you where to go. I love this forum but it is posts like this that make me just lurk here and there. Sorry if I offened this poster for posting this but now you guys have to be gentle with these people they are asking what to do they do not coming here to be SCREAMED at and talked down to. You don't know if this is a younger adult or not so please be a little gentler with people. Thank you |

I did want to add I sure hope that your little one is doing okay today. And I would love to know if you did take her to the vets and if so what they said. Please don't take what some people say to heart hon. You will find with Yorkie Forums we all love our babies so much that we would flip every stone to make sure they are alright. And as for injuries of the neck or spine I can attest to it being quick thinking and a fast trip to the vet to help these little ones out. My pup is like little Teagan. But Babybear was not stepped on he was born with a congenital defect and he broke his neck just by jumping on my lap for a 12 inch chair. He died on my livingroom floor. My husband gave him mouth to mouth to the vets office. So this why I am hoping your baby is doing okay hon.. Please notify us if you can to let us know how your little one is doing. Thank you sweety. |
Sometimes people come online for reassurance on what to do. We're not all Yorkie experts. I know in my career in being a pediatric nurse... A LOT of my friends and family call me for advice before taking their kids to the doctor. Most of them just need reassurance that they are thinking the right way in a stressful and nervous situation. Belittling someone and making them feel stupid is not the way to go about this. I hope the OP'er comes back and updates us on this little one...but i have a feeling that will never happen now. |
