Is this a scratch or something? Poor little Gracie:( I hope the meds work. Can she open her eye? how is she with allowing you plaicing the medication in her eye? Many thoughts and prayers going out to Gracie. :aimeeyork

Did the vet stain the eye to see what it was - or just assess it and give the meds? Most vets will stain the eye to see if the cornea is actually scratched and/or if something is lodged. If something is lodged, they need to get it out of there.

This is not your fault, Jessica, don't beat yourself up; these things happen and you'll get her through this. Hugs.

Today she is acting more like herself!!!:D but yesterday she wouldnt really open that eye... but today so far... shes had it open all the way... but I decided Im still going to go to the ophthamologist just because I want to know whats REALLY going on ;) I just dont want to chance anything with her eye! i dont want her to loose her eye because I was told to wait until the next week by a vet that I dont know let alone trust!!

from what he did he seemed like he just assessed it and gave meds... but I dont know... thats why Im going to go to the ophthamologist... just to be safe!!! but like i said she has been acting like her "normal" self!!! thanks sooooooooooo much everyone i will keep you updated as soon as I know anything!!!

oh I forgot to add... she does GREAT when I put the antibiotic in her eye... but she did wake up at 3:45 this morning whining again... so I put some more antibiotic in her eye this morning... she doesnt like me to open her eye all the way... but she will let me still... shes such a good girl!!! :D

so... I got an appointment set for 10:15 this morning with the ophthamologist... :D so I will let you all know what they say! ;) just so you know its 8:20 my time ;)

Thanks for the updates! The waiting is going to kill me...LOL ;). I wonder why she woke up whining at 3:45am this morning :confused: I hope she's not in any pain? I'm glad you're going to go see an OP just in case, better to be safe than sorry!!! Poor baby girl deserves lots of extra treats when you get home LOL ;). You're a great mommy!!!

ok so... Gracie had something in her eye!!! the op said that it was like a metallic gold thing that looked like a cinnamon roll... :confused::rolleyes: so she said that there are 3 layers of the lense on your eye... and this thing was stuck 30% of the way in her 2nd layer...:( she didnt know if she was going to be able to get it out with just a q-tip and a really small needle... she was worried that she would go too deep and "rupture the eye" so then they would have to put her under and get a a laser to cut her lense and get the thing out... well... she was able to get the ting out!!!!:D YAY:yay_jump::yay_jump::yay_jump: so they took a culture of the area that thing was stuck.. and they wont know for 72 hours... so we will see if we need to give her any other meds then the drops that they gave me...so like I said they gave me some antibiotic drops that are diff. from the other antibiotics...but shes doing SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!! :D she was sooooooooooooooooooooo BRAVE!!! Im sooooooooooooooooooo PROUD of her!!! they gave me the thing that was in her eye... Im not home right now... so I dont have my camera with me... so I will take a pic of it later tonight... and post maybe tonight maybe tomorrow... I dont know when Im going to get home... ;)

OMG!!! Thank goodness you followed your instinct and and took her to the OP!!!!!! I'm so glad she's doing better now :D. Is she still taking the meds the vet told her to take or only what the OP has her on now? Gracie has a WONDERFUL mommy!!!!!!!!!! Great job and Great job Gracie for being so brave!!!!!!!!
