Everyday I have been checking this Thread with my teeth clenched, worried what I may read. To me, no news is good news. We all have to think positive. I lit a candle at church for Teagan.. |

It's beyond selfish that Teagan (formerly Little Ray) was allowed to suffer so long, with nothing more than a cortisone shot and prednisone. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...home-asap.html |

God Bless you for lighting a candle at church for Teagan. He needs all the prayers everyone will offer up for him. |
:(:(:( This is sooo heartbreaking, the video of little Teagan breaks my heart, my god how can anyone allow an innocent living little being to suffer so long???? without proper care??? I can't wrap my head around it at all, do people not have hearts????????? Thank you to the wonderful members who got this boy out of there and into the caring hands of rescue, I pray and hope that they can give him quality of life and successful surgery. {{{{{{{{{Teagan}}}}}}}} Prayers that the news from the Neurosurgeon is hopeful!! :hands: :hands: |

Shelia Do you know when Teagon is supposed to be going to the Neuro?? Also have you check Yorkie Inc? They have a little AAI pup that has never had surgery you might want to talk to the girls there about everything. Thier surgeons recommend no surgery because of her health. She was not walking when the got her at 13 wks old. The little one's name is Posie Please check her out maybe this will give you alittle encouragement. Posie wears a neck brace(cast) and has done super good with this. They are checking into a neck brace that can be removed for baths instead of having a new one put on every few weeks. I will hope and pray that this will happen for Teagon also if all goes well. thank you for saying my boy is a inspiration.. He inspirers me every day to live it like it could be my last. I saw my baby die in front of me on the floor and thought that was his last breath. Now I can not believe what I am seeing with him. I am here for any and all of you that need it. Sending hugs to Teagons Angels. |

I just received an email from Corine and he has an appointment on April 8th. She said that he is still the same and that there have been no changes. Poor little guy. :( I have to say that with the predisone and paid meds he was comfortable unlike in the video so that at least is good to know he is not in pain. |
i am in tears right now... |

As for Teagan this is what I do know......Although he does have AAI that is not the cause of his paralyzes. He was stepped on and has a sever injury at C3 and C4 that was not treated immediately. The AAI I was told was something that although congenital was only secondary to his injury. They did not think it was the cause his inability to walk but now that he has the C3/C4 injury it has become a factor of his injury. Does that make sense???? Because it was NOW a factor of the injury was the reason that he needed the surgery to ever be able to walk and it should have been done immediately. Because it was not does immediately his condition continued to progress and worsen. As for Teagan's bowels and urine this is what I was told my Marie: When the injury first happened and Teagan was able to walk and more he would get up and go to his peepee pad to go potty. By the time I got him it was very evident that not only could he not more AT ALL he was laying in his urine and poop. From what I saw he gave no indication that he has control over what he was doing. My vet also was not sure if he was able to control them or if it was just a reflex of then become full and then he was eliminating. He came to me without a diaper and I was told he was able to use a pee pad to go but that is not something that he was ever capable of while he was with me for almost a week. He never showed any indication of pain at the AAI but I did notice that he had pain on his left side at the C3/C4 injury. He also seemed to be stronger of the right side of his body compared to the left. I was always veyr gentle while holding him but he did let out a whimper if held wrong on his left side were the spinal injury was located. I am going to send you a PM with my email address so that you can send me all of BB story and information. Also, I have seem the story of the little girl at Yorkies, Inc that wears the body cast. I've even watched her video and how she gets around. That is one very determined little sweetheart. We can only hope and pray that Teagan can also follow in both her and BB FOOTSTEPS. Thank you so much for all of your kind works and your offer to help. It is people like yourself and all of the other people at YT that have help with little Teagan. :) |

I feel the same way, it's just beyond my comprehension that anyone would allow Teagan to suffer so long. Keep those prayers coming!!! |

That sounds very encouraging. Hopefully, the Neuro will say surgery is an option for the injury and Teagan can wear a neck brace for the AAI, if surgery is not an option. He's such a tiny little guy. When my 1st Yorkie was 3 months shy of her 9th birthday, I watched her fight her way back from death's door, so I believe, if the Neuro will give Teagan a chance, he'll fight for his life. My Vet back then said she wouldn't see her 9th birthday. she saw her 9th and 4 more. Sheila |

Seems like forever, doesn't it? It's a relief to know that he is no longer in pain, as he was in the video. Hugs, Sheila |

Seven pages of heartfelt wishes for little Teagen.........YTalkers's have the biggest hearts. I am praying for the neurosurgeon and their skill and for him or her to feel what we feel for Teagen and the families that want to adopt him. :angelyork To give Teagen a chance. I will pray that Teagen is not in pain and that the angels are right there scratching and petting his lil head and that he knows he has so many people loving and praying for him. :angelyork:angelyork:angelyork |

I believe, that the Neurologist that examines Teagan on 4/8, will also have a big heart and do what is best for Teagan. Jodi said that Corrine from YT said Teagan is back on prednisone and also pain meds, so he is not in the kind of pain he was in when Jodi had him. I think Teagan knows he is in loving hands now. |
:getwellso Prayer for Teagan today:getwellso |
Just a thought.... The appt. may be for 4/8 - bc maybe they want to see if the prednisone and pain meds do anything for him ;) |

Stories like this one rip your heart right out of your chest. I will keep Teagan in my prayer's and also pray for the surgeon to perform a miracle on this little guy and give him his chance at life. He so deserves this, it's his right and it's not his fault he had to wait so long for it. Thank you special angles who have made it possible for Teagan to get the best care possible to get a second chance at life. Buddy and I are rooting for you Teagan. Hugs to all of you, |
I have an update on Teagan! :woof: I just got off the phone with Corrine from YTRN and she has the most WONDERFUL news that I could possibly hope for..................:happybounThey are giving him 75% chance of regaining his ability to walk! :yay_jump::yay_jump::yay_jump:I have to tell you that I had a lump in my throat and my hands were shaking when I made the phone call to Corrine. We both cried for little Teagan! I just know he is going to be able to walk NO RUN!!!!! :dogwalk: He has to~he has been through SOOOO much in his short little life. Everyone here on YT has said so many prayers for him and all of the well wishes! He will be scheduled very soon~within the next day or two for his surgery! It will be a long road for this little guy but I know in the end it will all be worth it that I was able to get him into rescue and get him the surgery that he needed. The surgeon also said that he will be able to also address the AAI issue as well! He has feeling in all his legs and reflexes so that is a really great sign as well! He should be put onto the YTNR website today or tomorrow. *I just checked and he is not up yet. :( They wanted to wait until they knew he would be a candidate for surgery. A lot of people have asked about donating to his rescue fund and as soon as he is on the site he will have a paypal. I also have an address as well if anyone wants to donate with a check. Just PM me and I will give you the information! Here is the site again for everyone that has asked: Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue Adoptions and Shop |
That is awesome news. I made a $100 donation a few weeks ago for him and plan on doing another $100 donation tomorrow when my check hits the bank. Anyone else joining me on the donation train? It has a lot of space for more passengers! Get well little Teagan. We all want to see you walk baby. |

I will tell you, that your call today not only brought tears of joy to my eyes, but when Rich came home, he was choked up & in tears, as well, when I told him the news. This would never have happened if you hadn't intervened and called Marie and demanded that she turn him over! You and I both realized, there was no way she was going to face my Vet after not telling him the truth. I am still deeply upset that she did not surrender him when the ER Vet told her he needed to see a Neurosurgeon. It is beyond my comprehension that anyone would allow him to live so long, in such extreme pain. He would have had 100% chance of walking again, if surgery had been done right away. But, I am very thankful that he has at least the 75% chance. I know you won't take the credit, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I say, Bravo, megansmoomma!!!! Go Teagan!!!!! Hugs & Prayers, Sheila |

You are so awesome! I too plan to donate in the morning too. YTNR was very kind to have taken him into their rescue. Since I am the only IL foster mom I, already have 3 plus a foster and 3 kids at home it just was not fair to keep him here with me. I cannot say enough thank yous to Corrine for opening their rescue to take on such a sick little baby! :) If it was not for her kind heart and love of the breed GOD ONLY KNOWS were he would be now. :(:( |
That's so awesome, and bless you for keeping us all informed about this little angel. His little face just melts my heart:love: Prayers continuing for his surgery to go well and for him to be all better!:hands: |
I have happy tears for Teagan.. I knew he would be able to walk I knew this little one had a miracle in him. And don't ever let anyone say that this little guy won't walk because I have 100% faith he will. He will just need the right therapies. And if you all need any help in being pointed in the right direction for that please let me know I am here for you both. Hip Hip Hurray Hip Hip Hurray for Teagon.. |
