Paranoid or if something is really wrong Please help I don’t know if I am just being paranoid or not but for the last two evenings Tobie has been acting kinda of funny. He just acts like he doesn’t feel well, he won’t eat his food and just lays around. He usually wants to play play play, I took him on a walk this afternoon and as soon as we got home he got a drink of water, I gave him his food and now he is just lying around. His belly feels warm, I don’t know if this is normal or not. But today he was fine and it is only happening in the evenings that he starts to act this way. Please can someone help me or give me some advice, I am starting to really worry about him. I don’t know if I am just being paranoid or if something is really wrong. and he is walking around with his tail down. |
are his gums pink? How old is he? How much does he weigh? Layla has days where she is play play play during the day and just out of it at night- and then opposite- I used to worry but now i've realized she has different moods and energy levels just like I do. If he is eating/pooping/playing normal during the day- and his gums are pink- sounds like he is just tired after a long fun day :) Layla also differs as the season do (nuts.. i know) she is CRAZY during the winter- playing her fool head off- in the summer- she slows down as the heat starts to affect her. |
His gums by his teeth are black but they do have pink to them up above the black part if that makes sense?? |

The lighter part should be pink, not white, blueish, purple, gray, etc. |
Thank ya'll soo much, I guess I am just paranoid that something is going to happen to him or that something is wrong. Thanks again. No he still has not eaten but his gums are pink. |

OH and worrying is normal :) It comes with being a yorkie mom :D |
ok I will do that thanks again. |
And I should have added to my last post, if he is laying around and has been for two nights straight and it is not normal for him, I would be concerned also. If it looks like something is wrong, there probably is... You know hi best. How old is he? |
About to be 2 in April he weighs 5 lb |

Read this: from the ASPCA blog Tuesday, March 20, 2007 Pet Poison Q & A: Sweet Talk I understand that the sweetener xylitol is toxic to pets, but what about other sweeteners like sucralose and aspartame? ―Kristin Z. Great question, Kristin. Sweeteners such as sucralose (Splenda), aspartame (NutraSweet) and saccharin (Sweet N' Low) are not known to cause problems in dogs or other pets, as the sweetener xylitol has been shown to do. However, they could potentially cause mild gastrointestinal upset if eaten in significant quantities, so it is still a good idea to refrain from offering pets such sweeteners. |

That isn't going to hurt but I wouldn't recommend giving any artificial sweeteners if it is avoidable. No worries. |
