Need Advice please read this thread (video included) I have taken my dog to two different vets they both have no idea what is wrong with my dog. They both said it didn't look like a seizure. These "episodes" last about 5 minutes and she just had another today after its over she's fine but I was hoping someone out there would know exactly what is going on with my dog. Please look at the video I taped it so the vet would know exactly what happened me gabby sick Shortfilm Video on IMEEM Video Thanks |
I saw something like this on animal police on animal planet...someone complained cause they thought the dog was being abused cause it walked like this....it ended up that the dog had something wrong with the spinal cord. |
Thanks for the quick reply wow I will have to mention that to the vet I have another appointment tomorrow. |
I hope your vet will be able to help you once they see this video. Could your dog be having a hyperglycemic episode? Let us know what happens at the vet. You may just help alot of other yorkie owners. |
Is Gabby like this all of the time or just for short periods and how long has she been like this? |
Sorry, I don't know what it could be. Just bumping your thread up for you. Is your Gabby in any pain during these episodes? Just thinking ahead to what others may ask. |

It must be very frustrating for you to see your baby sick and not knowing what is wrong. I hope you soon find answers and that Gabby gets treatment and it is nothing serious. Hugs |
I though it looked like a sort of seizure. Alfie has seizures but he goes very stiff , mainly in his front legs , but if your vet ruled that out maybe its to do with her spine .I think there is a thread about a conditon to do with this somewhere, i will have look and post it if I find it. Good luck in getting to the bottom of what is going on with your little one. |
it almost sounds like your vet isn't willing to keep looking for an answer. You said he ran tests and ruled out seizures. What else is your vet doing for you? I'd be finding a specialist or something. just my 2 cents |

I do not have a clue what is going on but my suggestion would be to see a neurologist. :( |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ent-stiff.html Look at this thread someone mentions Altonoaxial instability in it you might be able to find something on this. iam not saying that is what your litle one has but i may be worh looking it up and seeing what the symptoms are. |
Oh my. I hope your baby will be ok. |
I don\'t think it looks like a seizure either. It looks spinal maybe. I would ask for a referral to a neurologist I think. I really hope that you find something out soon. |
I\'m sorry I can\'t help you figure out what is wrong with Gabby. She looks so helpless when she\'s having the episode and I can imagine your heart breaks because you also feel helpless. I hope you can find a vet who can help. |
