It sounds like he might be hurting. I'd take him in if there's a chance he's in pain-- at least the vet could get him on some pain management that way even if you want to take more of a "wait and see" approach as far as the injury is concerned. |

Thanks, I decided to wait. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at all. My brother, a vet, arrives tomorrow and he can advise. Meanwhile, he (the dog, not the brother!) is eating and eliminating fine (outside) and he is running around as if there is nothing wrong (on three legs) My daughter is home visiting keeping a close eye while I am at work. Thanks again. I will let you know how it all turns out. Chris |

I can highly recommend Dr. Hollsworth. This past summer he repaired both knees for LP, as well as a torn cruciate ligament at the same time. The Dr. was wonderful -- (and pretty cute too!!!) The price was pretty high, but there was no question on getting it done -- my baby is worth it!!!! |
Oh thats great, its always nice to get a good referal from someone who has had a similar issue. How is DD? |

It is such a bummer when they do not feel well and usually pumpkin and probiotics work so not sure if the white rice is culprit as was a little firmer with brown rice -- anyone have this experience ? |

thanks Hi, I took Petie to the vet. Xrays were taken, metcam (sp?) rx'd. She (vet) agreed w/ me that the dog did not seem to be in pain...said he would adjust and that surgery is generally not successful in these cases (slipped patella), and not to restrict nor push movement. Already he is putting a little weight on since the med, He was a trouper,,, $225 later but worth it, thanks everyone. Of course she did say he should lose weight (today he weighed 7' 11" but then the vet herself and Petie's owner (me) should lose weight too!!!) |
