| I'm sorry Max isn't feeling well. I don't have any suggestions other than to hit the Search icon up top and put in "Congested". Good Luck. Feel Better Soon, Max.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Thanks,I'm not used to seeing him like that, even thou he is acting normal, I can feel how congested his chest is.My kids are grown and I had forgotten what it was to check on them every 5 min, so I guess tonight is going to be a long night.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh, poor guy!!! Honestly, I'm not sure I'd give him anything at this point without knowing what's going on here . Maybe the only thing I'd give to get him comfortable, to help him sleep, and in case it's an allergic reaction - is some childrens liquid benadryl.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Went to the vet We just got back from the vet.The xrays showed no signs of trachea or longs problems, and longs are clear, he did the blood work, and it is not normal the platelets are low, and so is MCV Now, MCHC,RBC,Hb,are high. He retested for "rickettsial disease" which came back negative So after 1.30 hr. and $386.00 later he concluded that Max may be dehydrated, but for his trough and some inflammation, he should take prednisolone. I got everything here, but did not want to start any med. without consulting with "the YT experts". What do you all think?

| That is kind of a vague diagnosis for prednisolone but if you trust the vet, I'd go with it. If he is dehydrated, is he getting fluids?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I stared the prednisone yesterday (twice a day for 3 days, and so on)he is doing much better today, but I don't think it is because of it, I'm sure he just had a chest cold, but since he had the 2 doses from yesterday and one today, I don't think I should just stop now, not with prednisone, confused:, what do you think? I took him to the vet for the cold symptoms, but Im worried about the blood test, as far as him been dehydrated, it makes me wonder,it could be, since I took him around 10 am, and he did not have anything to eat or drink since the night before, but I just don't feel very comfortable with that explanation. I will take him again in Jan. to have those test re done and I'll take it from there,so far this vet. has been very good, but at the same time, Max has never been sick a day of his life.
