Reese is very sick......
 

Maybe this should be posted in special thoughts...but please say a prayer for my Reese. He's at the ER vet's and will probably have to spend the night.


I have had him at my regular vet's and twice to the emergency vet's. Today being the last time I took him to emergency. They want to keep him there. I kept telling these vets...he's sick. Took him Wednesday...all his regular vet could find...was possibly a gastic problem along with some fever. Give him fluids and pepcid...send him home. Thursday night he can't breath....to the ER...they think he has a respiratory infection...more fluids, anti biotics, something to increase his appetite. Bring him home...and Friday he is coughing/hacking. I used a humidifer to help his congestion. Saturday I literally could not get him to eat ANYTHING and offered lots of tempting stuff....boiled chicken, canned wellness, beef. I forced fluid via a syringe. I have been so worried. I was hoping this morning he would be hungry enough to eat...but he wouldn't...so I went back to the ER vet. She thinks the respiratory problem is secondary to something else. Heck I wonder if he caught the respiratory stuff from me...taking him to the vet's offices. He's only been around my dogs and only home and work. The tests and x rays they've done...all come back fine...I kept saying...he is sick. So now they are testing for pancreatis, doing another xray with contrast in it, more fluids...and hopefully will find something and turn him around. He's lost a pound in just 4 days.

My heart hurts.

Prayers and thoughts being sent to you and Reese that they figure out what is wrong and then onto a speedy recovery....

On no I am so sorry. It is so frustrating when they can't find out the reason they ars sick. I will keep Reese in my prayers.

I am so sorry that Reese is so sick, I will be praying that he turns around soon and can come home healthy and happy!!! Keep us informed.

I know all too well how it feels to be worried sick about these little guys. I recently spent 2 ER trips and a trip to our regular vet with Asha. I am praying for you and Reese to have a speedy recovery. Keep us posted!:getwellso:love-hug3:hands:

Oh Deb, no! I will be thinking and praying soo hard for Reece, you and the rest today and everyday until he is home safe and healthy in your arms. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. My heart is hurting for you.

I commend you for demanding the proper attention for Reece. It's easy to be turned away and accept it, even when you still feel that there is something wrong. Please don't blame yourself for exposing him to something by taking him to the vet. You were doing the right thing.

Checking in to see how Reese is doing?

Reese will have his x ray here shortly. They had to wait for the barium to travel through his system. No results yet on the pancreatic test...the lab was backed up. He is in isolation, sleeping but without any more symptoms...no fever, coughing, etc. He's stable and just resting...

Please keep praying.

REESE IS BETTER!!! He's up, he's eating, and he's barking he wants to go home!!! :yay_jump:

At 11pm...all his tests had come back negative or normal...at 3am another x ray was done.

I don't know any specifics other than...he is BETTER and he's coming home!!

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern. I really really appreciate it...cause Reese isn't just a dog, you know. :)
