Ozzy needs your prayers
 

It's been a few months since I've been here. Life has gotten a bit crazy for us. Two months ago Ozzy had a seizure at Doggie Daycare. He was unresponsive for about 5 minutes. I rushed to his school and flew to the vet with him. By the time I got there he was wobbly but up and around. Well the vet did a CBC, Chem screen and an EKG and everything came back normal. Liver functions well within normal range, glucose a bit high but that's to be expected. He said to just watch and see if he has another. That was October 3.

Saturday I noticed his breath was really bad so I looked in to check on his retained canines and thought he had chewed something and got it wedged between his teeth. I picked at it and realized it was attached. Yesterday I brought him to the vet and it is a large mass :( He just turned a year old friday. Right now he is back at the vet waiting to have surgery to remove the tumor then we'll have it biopsied. I'm so worried. Mouth masses can be really bad and I'm so worried that this one grew that big within the last 2 months.

Please say a prayer for my little boy. He's been through alot and still manages to retain his happy go lucky personality. He'll take all the yorkie prayers he can get. I will post an update once I hear he is out of surgery.

Update
 

Well Ozzy came through the surgery well thank God. He is resting and I can take him home tonight. The mass came out well but seemed to have 2 parts to it. The Doctor didn't do the cell smear as he didn't want to compromise the tumor for the pathology lab. (ironnically the tumor is coming to the lab of the company that I work for).

We should get the results back on friday, so now the waiting starts. He has Cefadrops and some pain meds so hopefully he will be comfortable tonight. Poor guy also had his 2 retained canines pulled. What a day for my poor baby. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, keep them coming for a benign biopsy result. :hug:

Our prayers are with you and Ozzy. Sure hope everything will be o.k.

Ozzy did really well last night. He was quiet when he got home but the vet said to let him eat if he wants even crunchy food as he cauterized the area so there are no stitches. Well he ate some wet and dry. He was so hungry the poor guy. I didn't even have to give him pain meds at all. I couldn't believe it when he started CHEWING his nylabone!!!! Chewing! I couldn't belive it. He is such a tough little man :) I'm so proud of him. Today he went to daycare for a quiet day but he was ready to rip this morning so I don't know if they'll be able to keep him quiet :D He never ceases to amaze me. Two day until biopsy relsults are back....the waiting is killing me.

Our prayer's are on their way for you and Ozzie.
Glad your boy is doing so well. What a strong little fellow he is.

Good news!!!!!
 

Ozzy's tumor was benign!!!! I'm so relieved!!! :D I heard Thursday night but we have been without power, phone or tv since Thursday's horrible ice storm so we've been cut off from the world. (I'm at work..of course work has power!!)

He's doing great and has one day left of antibiotics. Thank thank thank you thank you all so much for the prayers and support. It meant so much and Oz sends you all yorkie kisses :animal36 Hopefully this is the end of his health issues and it will be smooth sailing from here on out!
