| Alphie Jaye 3 1/2 months old got her yest seems sick now Please give advice. I just got my first baby female tiny 1.4 lbs. 3 1/2 months old. When we got her home, she wouldn't eat.She started throwing up . She has been drinking lots of water last night and today. didn't move around much. I gave her a drop of light corn syrup and boiled some rice w/ white chicken. (hope that was ok) she ate it up ,only gave her 3/4 tsp. rice and chicken. Do you think she could just be stressed from leaving her momma and siblings ,I am worried I might do something wrong or not enough. any advice welcome. Kim |

| It could be stress from change, the throwing up might be from the travelling or it could be something more serious. You have to be very careful when they are that tiny. The move to their new home can wear them out but they bounce back pretty fast. It might be hypoglycemia so the corn syrup was a good idea. Hypoglycemia You have to keep a close eye on her. Make sure she is eating and drinking throughout the day. She should be playful and then need sleep (like a baby) but not listless. The boiled chicken and rice is fine. It's important that she eats. If you think she might be sick don't wait to take her to the vet, they can crash very fast. Welcome to YT and congratulations on your new puppy.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It could be hypoglycemia, yes. At that age and weight though - I'd bring her to the vet ASAP! Congrats on your new baby, and I do hope she is feeling better...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Congratulations. I would make sure she is eating every 3-4 hours until she gets a little bigger. Nutrical may help too. I would definitately get her checked out by the vet ASAP.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OH KIM!! I'm sorry to hear this, but I am SO glad you got her in so quickly - that was the best thing you could do!! She is in good hands I'm sure, getting fluids and meds - and will likely get all that she needs to recover. Coccidia is not that uncommon. I'm sending good thoughts your way for a speedy recovery for little Alphie Jaye!!!!

| Thank you . Alphie Jaye is home with us now. She seems much better yet she is a long way from being out of the woods. She is on Albon and Nutri Cal. She is resting now. Have instructions to give pedialyte if she stops drinking water . and call er vet if she gets listless and gums turn white again over weekend. Then if she does ok thru weekend to call our vets office Monday morning and give them update on her. Please continue to pray for Alphie Jaye she is a tiny darling. I know she is fighting for her life right now and we are doing our best to get her over this. Kim |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I will keep her in my prayers. My Cali had that when I got her and she was 1 lb. it took a couple of rounds of Albon and making sure she ate to get her better.
