Keeping Bubba in my prayers.

Hi everyone!
Bubba is doing okay. VERY tired. And it is impossible to give him his one medication (for vomiting...starts with an M). It is a liquid and you give it to him with this syringe thing and it took me 20 minutes to get about a quarter of the amount in him. Lil' bugger put up a good fight to not take it! He snapped at me and snarled a couple times too. My brother even tried to help and it was not very successful. Any advice on how to get him to take this medicine? Is it a good idea to mix it with his food? I cannot get him to take it by mouth without it being a 20 minute fight only to get a quarter of the needed amount in him! My guess is that the stuff might not taste very good.
He is on a bland diet for a couple of days, too. They seemed more concerned about his vomiting than the reverse sneezing. They did say that he could get pneumonia from aspirating when he threw up but didn't seem to make such a big deal out of it...just watch for symptoms. They are looking to start him on an allergy medicine also, but haven't yet. He goes back in for a follow up visit in a couple of days.
Poor thing is absolutely exhausted though :( All he wants to do is be held and cuddled...which, of course I have no issue with :p

Some medications can be taken with food, but some cannot. I would call the vet and see if it is O.K , for it to be taken with some food to disguise the taste.

I'm glad to hear he's okay. I can't help you with the medicine problem because Stella doesn't put up a fight or at least not much of one;)

too be honest i would get a second opinion. i would take the bloodwork results and a stool sample to another vet.

I'm so glad Bubba is now home safely in Mommy's arms!!;) It was a great thing that you got him to the Vet though. I'm hoping and praying that he will be back to his playful self very soon. I know it was scary. Pls keep us updated. Hugs!

Bubba has been acting pretty good :) He had a really bad episode earlier today when my room mate came in to say bye to him...she had some perfume on and I don't know if that's what set him off but he started in on the breathing thing and it lasted for a while. I held him for a while, let him down, a bit later he had a major sneezing fit, and was back to breathing fine once again! The vet said reverse sneezing is harmless but it gets scary seeing him try to breathe and the noises that he makes. I did look on youtube and his fits do look similar to those with the reverse sneezing...I know it's harmless but it's absolutely terrifying seeing him when it lasts a long time! Once my room mate left and the smell cleared out a bit, he was fine...so my guess is the perfume set him off. Both of my yorkies have an appt to go to the vet on Wednesday so if he keeps having long fits, I will let him know and see if there's anything else that can be done!

I definitely know how you feel. My Oliver had a trachea stent put in just a week ago. He seems to be doing great now and I hope the same for your sweetie.
