He had a good night. Not a single sneeze. It doesn't mean he's out of the woods, but it's comforting nonetheless. |
Mike I know you are being bombarded with questions, but how big are the foxtail thingies (barbs?) that are so dangerous? And i watched the video - with tears streaming down my face the whole way. The video was incredible - even without sound - just reading the script, I could "feel" how much Eddie is loved. Continuing to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
I just saw this! Wow, Eddie, you sound like me! When I sneeze, it's a minimum of 7 in a row! Drives everyone nuts. I am praying it's just a little tickle or maybe a little bug-bite up your nose and not those nasty foxtails. Poor little guy-hugs from Roxy and a hi-paw-five from Remi. Feel better soon, li'l buddy. You're far too cute to be not feeling so good. Hang in there, Mike, you're doing everything right. Eddie looks like he feels fine, 'cept for the sneezing. Thanks for keeping us updated. |

In the nose, I think I would have noticed a big one, even one that size. My fear is that one of the individual needles broke off and went up there. And each of the needles has tiny barbs on it that angle in a way to where it works its way into the body. But who knows? It could have also been a tiny speck of pollen. Or maybe a full foxtail went in a poked him and then came out, and it's the poke that's causing the irritation and sneezing. That's actually what I'm hoping now, that nothing is in there and this problem will go away with antibiotics. It's the guessing that's driving me crazy. But again, he had his best night yet and he's having his best day yet, so I've got my fingers crossed. The vet said I won't know for sure until after I stop the meds. If the sneezing returns, there's still something wrong. |
Big prayers for Eddie from Indiana! Mike, I know how helpless you must feel. And we all know how special that boy is to you! I sure hope you have another sneeze-free nite. Are you able to get any rest, or do you just stare at him all nite? I know he's gonna be just fine. You and Mrs. Mike are the greatest doggy parents ever! |
Aw, thanks Paula. Yeah, I sleep much better when he's not sneezing. He wanted to sleep in the living room last night, but I made him sleep with us so I could keep an eye on him. Plus, I'm feeling a little better knowing I've done everything I can possibly do for right now. |
So happy the sneezing is better. I will keep him in my prayers. |

Hi Mike! I had to come on to check for updates on Eddie. I'm so glad he's sneezing less and hope and pray he does okay! What a worry! |
Glad Eddie seems to be doing okay. I hope it was just a huge coincidence and his sneezing fits have nothing to do with those nasty foxtails. |
Just checking in on Eddie's update. Glad to hear he is doing better. :) |
I haven't been around much until lately but just found this thread.....Your video had tears running down my face too, it is so obvious how loved little Eddie is. Praying all is well with the little guy. Hugs from Kass . |
Hope Eddie had a restful night and continues to improve!! Hugs from Toto and me. :animal-pa |
I'm late to this as well. No internet access for a week... I sure hope Eddie is on the mend and no more sneezing attacks! for Eddie from Abby and Daisy. (when the video was playing they were standing by my chair wanting to see what was going on) You're such a good doggy Daddy. |
