Hi Mike...it's been a while but I stopped by to say HI to all of the Yorkies :p
I was very sad to read about Eddie's sneezing issue but I'm soooooooooo happy that he's doing better!!
We are also very jealous of you winning the Denali lottery...I've always hoped to get to go and so far no luck. Your pics of the park are lovely!!
Bela and the italian greyhounds say hello and hope you and the fur-kids are enjoying the sunshine we are having in Anchorage today...yippee....it's about time!! |
Hi Lisa! I meant to respond to your comment when I first saw it, then I got distracted and forgot! Thanks for your concern. The Denali trip was awesome! And, speaking of weather, it was another fine day today. I had it off and basked in every last minute of it!
Here's an update for everyone who was kind enough to post their concerns here. Sorry it took me so long.
Eddie seems to be doing great. When I pulled him off the antibiotics, he sneezed only a few times, and they seemed like regular sneezes, not the violent multiple ones that he was having before.
The only weird thing was his reverse sneezing got real bad. He was honking and choking more than he's ever done. I wasn't sure what the heck that meant. There's also a chance that it's not reverse sneezing, that he has trachea issues. And I lost his harness and was using his buckle collar for about a week. He wasn't pulling on his leash, so I thought it might be OK.
Anyhow, I found the harness and the reverse sneezing/trachea issues, whatever it is, has subsided in the last couple days. And the regular sneezing hasn't picked up. I'm not 100 percent sure he's out of the woods, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. I think it's safe to say that whatever was causing the sneezing has worked itself out.
And for those who read my thread about him mistaking me for Jack and biting me on the nose, we've been working real hard on his guarding issues. Neither dog has been allowed on the bed without an invitation, and even then they are training sessions to get them used to sharing. They're not sleeping with us.
They're not happy about that, and my wife is even more upset. She misses her snuggler. But I want to give them a couple weeks of work before trying them again on the bed. I'm confident we'll be able to work it out.
So thanks again for following our scary odyssey. I think YT magic worked!
