| My Yorkie ate a Starfish My Yorkie (4lbs, 2 yo). ate a piece of a Starfish. It's a dried up starfish that I bought at a store in Florida. Do you think I should call the vet?? Has this happend to anyone else?? I'm worried if it's toxic or if it can hurt him in any way. It just happend and he's fine so far but we are going out this evening and I'm worried about leaving him alone. Any advice?? Thank you |

| I would call the vet too. I don't know for sure but I wouldn't think a starfish would be easily digested and you don't want a blockage. Good luck.

| Thank you everyone for your advice. I called the vet and she didn't seem to be concerned. He only ate a piece of the starfish, not the whole thing. She just said to keep an eye on him and hope he poops it out. So far, he's been fine. I was more worried about the starfish being toxic or something which, I learned, they are not. Friggen dog gets into everything! LOL. |
