| 1 or 2 fleas? What should I do? While we were at a friend's house on Monday, a flea was jumping around near both my dog and hers. We both freaked out! We both thought it was just 1, but of course, I'm super paranoid, came home and started frantically combing my pup. I didn't find anything, and proceeded to give him a bath with Scratchex Flea and Tick shampoo this morning. Then, upon returning home from work tonight, Darwin was scratching, so I check his belly - and I think I may have seen a flea crawl up into his belly. Do fleas crawl? Or do they always jump? I proceeded to give him another bath with Scratchex. My question is - is 1 or 2 fleas a cause for concern? Darwin is treated monthly with frontline plus, his monthly application is due again on Saturday, so I didn't know if there's anything I should do in the mean time to kill off any possible existing fleas. Help! |

| i don't think i'd be overly concerned at this point. if you continue to find them on him then there may be a few in your house. You can treat your carpets and upholstry with spray and powders. Since you treat your dog already with frontlin then I wouldn't be concerned yet.

| I'm always told if you see 1 or 2 there are many many more. I freak out also if I see 1. If I were you I would get a Capstar from the vet and give it right away. Then treat with Frontline. Just what I would do. There's never just 1 or 2, so little blood suckers run and hide.
