| Back Pain/Yelping My 3 month old Yorkie has been yelping when she first wakes up from naps and when we touch her in certain ways. She is eating and drinking fine and is on Hill's Science Diet (puppy). She was also shivering earlier, but I cuddled her in a blanket and she quit. I also have a Chihuahua who is 12 lbs. and plays with her alot. He is really good with her but can be a little rough due to his size alone. I'm thinking maybe he bit at her back or got a little rough with her. Or maybe she pulled a muscle from jumping up our stairs. She is about 3 lbs. I have given her 1/4 of a baby aspirin in cheese but wanted to see if you guys knew of anything else to look for or do. If she is still yelping in the morning, I will take her to the vet. She has had two rounds of her shots and I am worried about Parvo? My vet said it was really bad right now and although she has been getting her shots she isn't completely protected until she has had all of her shots. I have only been letting her potty in my back yard which is fenced but realize that may not keep her from getting it (bird poop and rabbit poop). Thanks |

| A 12 pound dog playing rough with a 3 pound puppy can cause injury. It sounds like she has injured her back. I would take her to your vet as soon as possible. |

| In a Yorkie pup with back pain, I would be extremely concerned about atlanto axial subluxation (AAI/AAS). Is this more toward the neck? If your pup is yelping in pain she needs to see a vet immediately. If a round of shots were given a day or two ago, it is a possibility that the pain could be from that.

| Resolved : Thanks Thanks to everyone who replied! After x-rays, we found out that Paisley just had a pulled muscle and after just two days of anti-inflamatory she is doing just fine! I just go into panic mode when anything is wrong, worry, worry, worry. Ginger |
