Thanks everyone for thinking of us. I also wanted to thank those who PM'd and emailed me. I promise I'll reply back to all of you some time today. ;) I'll be sure to give an update on Monday. If I didn't respond to you in this thread please don't take it personal. I just don't want to keep bumping my thread with thank you's when another thread might really need to be seen. Plus, she is going to be seen soon and hopefully it will be nothing major. I do appreciate all the help so much. Please keep Pia in your prayers. Thanks again!! Hugs, Dina & Pia :) |
Today's the day : ( Hi, I just wanted to ask everyone to keep Pia in your prayers today. I can't wait to get in there and see what's wrong but I'm also really nervous. :( I hope its nothing major. I'll give an update when we get back home. Thanks everyone!! |
I hope it's nothing major! |
I hope everything goes well with the vet visit. :hands: |
Dina, Do you have any updates? I am sending prayers for baby Pia |
I seen the pic and that reminded me of when my horse scratched his eye. It looked exactly like Pia's. The vet did a stain test by applying a dye to see the damage and thankfully none was done. He just scratched the outside layer. We just had to wash his eye out with a wash and put some drops and a eye cream. Withing a short time the cloudiness and scratch went away. Hope this helps. Hugs to Pia, she will be in our prayers! |
Checking on Pia.What time was the appointment? |

Just checking for an update. Hoping for the best for little Pia. :) |
I just saw this thread right now! Ahh poor Pia :( I hope everything is ok and it is a minor little thing as a scratch. I keep my fingers crossed. |
Update : ) Hi everyone, I just got home about 10 mintues ago. The doctor put dye in Pia's eye and it seems she has either a calcium or cholesterol deposit. Since there is no ulcer (which sometimes happens) she did not need medication. It should go away on its own in time. She told me to watch it closely and if it changes at all then I will have to take her to a specialist. She also did a complete check-up on her and everything turned up great, except her teeth. :( However, this was not a shock to me at all. She really wants to get them cleaned as soon as possible. I'm a nervous wreck about this and explained Pia's history and how we almost lost her before when she was put under. She was so nice about it but still feels Pia really needs a dental. Pia's one tooth is actually starting to rot. :( I've tried so hard to help her teeth but I know this has to be done. I think I've always known but didn't want to face it. She wants me to get all of Pia's records (other vet) from when she was put under before so she knows exactly what was used on her. Then she's going to do a full blood panel of tests and then Pia will finally get those nasty teeth cleaned. The doctor was so nice and she understood why I put it off for so long. She said on the day she cleans them I can come in and wait there the entire time. I'll take Pia there in the morning and they'll get her prepped but instead of her waiting in a cage until she gets her teeth cleaned, the vet said I could wait in her office with Pia. ;) I thought this was so sweet of her to offer. She really was so nice and I actually do feel comfortable with letting her take care of my baby. She truly understood Pia's needs and that meant the world to me. I guess that's pretty much it. She's very healthy and has no luxating patella issues, heart murmor , collapsed trachea or anything else. Oh and she even gained 5 ounces. :D Thank you all for the prayers!! I kow they really worked. ;) When its time for the teeth cleaning I'll be back asking for more. :D Big hugs, Dina & PP  |
glad to hear Pia's eye is ok... |

I would go to the vet. Our Spicy got a spot at around 4 yrs old and at nine she is almost completely blind. The vet said it was progressive and couldn't be fixed. A cloudy eye or increased opacity of the eye is associated with reduced transparency of either the cornea, the fluid media within the eye, or the lens. This change may be described as a "film" covering the eye or as an increased cloudiness within eye. Cloudiness of the eye may or may not be associated with a reduction in vision. The causes of a cloudy eye typically fall into one of the following categories: Cloudiness of the cornea, which may occur with corneal infections, corneal scarring, infiltrative inflammatory diseases of the cornea, fatty infiltration or calcium deposition within the cornea, or corneal edema (fluid accumulation) Cloudiness of the aqueous humor, which is the fluid that circulates within the front chamber of the eye. This may be due to the accumulation of white blood cells, protein, fatty lipids or blood. |
