Update on Bella!
 

Thank you to everyone for your concern. Bella got her stitches out and is healing. There will be massive scars on her leg. Most of the hair on her leg is gone forever. In its place blackish scars with little patches of hair on the entire leg. I am thankful now she is not in severe pain. She still walks with a limp and holds the foot up when she sits. She has no feeling in one of her toes. I am thankful because she could have lost her leg. The emergency Vet on I-10 and Campbell did an awesome job on her surgery. My vet said they closed an impossible wound and it stayed. He said they saved her leg. I am so thankful! She is still nervous outside, we blocked the entire side of our yard were the bad dogs live. We have a chain link fence up to keep them away. She freaks out if any of us go on that side of the yard.

As far as the neighbors. I have only received a 350.00 of a 950.00 bill. Nothing else so far. Hopefully they will step up and pay the rest. I'll put new pictures of Bella soon. She and Shyloh play just like they use to, however Shyloh knows to go for her foot. Bella gets really mad, so do I. My little Shyloh is a mess!

awwww im soo glad she is doing good... that poor baby is still wierd about ppl getting close to that area i see... thats just her being protective. tell her my babies Abby and Jack send her lots of doggy kisses. thank god those good doctors were able to save her leg. gives her lots of hugs from me. and please let us know when you put up new pics...

You might want to find out who their homeowners insurance is with. Usually just threatening to contact someone's insurance company is enough for people to pay up. Small claims courts will also handle this. You are only entitled to actual payment of vet bills, not pain and suffering, which would be a bundle in this case. The case is pretty clear-cut, and you would no doubt win. Some people try to get off with half, but if what you say about the fence is true, than it's 100% their fault. I'm so glad your baby survived this, and you were able to get treatment so fast. Tell Bella "WOOF WOOF, ARF AFR" from me. :D
