She is doing ok really other than getting up and moving around she seems not to be hurting to bad.
I think that sad look is true.. but also a Golden always has that sad lazy look when sleepy .. Amy loves to sleep.. we leave here at 6:30 am for the vet.
I will try to keep you all updated. I do have to go to work tho :( but not till 5 pm.
I'll be off thursday and Friday.. She'll come home thursday if all goes as planed.

surgery went well.. she is doing good and getting lots of attention.being a drama queen. while I was on the phone she was howling cause the teck had towalk away and she wanted her back..

Just stopping by to check in on Amy. She's a beautiful girl. She reminds me of our Misty, except Misty is turning white around her muzzle.

I hope Amy is doing well.

Oh yea! :) So glad to hear all went well and the surgery part is over! Will you go see her before you bring her home...or will that just make it harder on both of you when you would have to leave her again? I'll bet you'll be counting down the hours til she comes home;)

I want to go see her today but I don't want her to get upset when she can't come home with me yet.
I will ask the vet what he thinks when I talk to him.
I get a hour for lunch today so maybe and the vet is just down the street...

Sooooooooooooooo......did you go visit her or just talk to the vet? How is she doing?

I'll bet you can hardly stand the wait til tomorrow morning (?) when she can come home, huh? Give her a hug from me;)

I didn't go visit. I wanted to And I was only a few blocks away but. when I talked to the vet they said they were trying to keep her a quiet as possible. well I know that she would get super excited to see me. so I said I would see her tomorrow. I get to go get her any time after 4. I will be there asap.

Lori, that's great that Amy did so well! She'll be so happy to see her Mama :D I hope Amy continues to get better w/ each passing day.

Make sure when you pick her up, that you have help getting her out of your vehicle at home. The only reason I even mention this is because my SIL realized on the way home from the vet with her baby girl, Lady, that her hubby wasn't home and she had to call my hubby to come lift Lady out of the back of her SUV. You've probably got it all worked out, but just in case.. :)

But Jim should be home by then If not I'll just get the guy next door to help:)

Poor baby girl! she is in so much Pain she is just whining. I feel so bad for her! I think it is gonna be a long night.

Awe......... the poor gal! I know how hard it is!!! I am thinking that your vet may have sent her home with pain meds.... and they should help. After Shelb's LP surgery I could tell that when she took the meds that they gave her relief. But it is still so hard to see them looking so sad.

Aww, look at poor Amy........hope you feel all better real soon sweetie.

So what's the prognosis (?) and/or length of healing time? How long before she's not in so much pain? Hope it won't be to long. Hugs to both of you.:)

I'm glad she is home and starting her recovery. It's just so hard, isn't it?

Our golden will probably have to be put down soon... she is 13 and having a lot of health issues. :(

I'm glad you have your Amy back with you. :)

It is gonna take a while for recovery. she has to be confined and watched for a month and I will work with her on the movement. they gave her pain meds and they have helped a little.
but it is so hard to hear her . I can tell she is still hurting:(

Ahhh, you are such a good Mommy. I slept on the floor when Zoeybear was spayed. Hope she is feeling better soon.

I am so sorry to hear about Amy but it sounds as if she is doing okay. It might just be my younguns, but they can suck up pain medicine like crazy and still make noise. I have drama queens too but my drama kings are worse. Sleeping on the floor with them helps us feel better cause we really do need to be close to them in case they need ANYthing. And, your baby will be so much more comfortable, or less uncomfortable, with the prsence of her fav hooman.

Aww Teri I am so sorry.. That is so hard. we have had to many that have had to be PTS...it is always so hard...:(

Lori, I am just seeing this. I am so sorry that Amy had to go through all the pain but glad she is doing well. We had a golden years ago and they are wonderful pets. I will keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Amy is doing Really well.. I am now able to sleep in bed again. I did give her a pain pill last night before bed but so far she has not needed any today. I have to work AGAIN today:( But DH will be here with her..
