Oh Erin....I am sending prayers for Koda. :hands: :hands: Do you have any updates on how he is doing??? |
Checking again. |
Just checking in to see if Koda is ok. |
I have to run to the store but NEEDED to check on Koda first:(. Hope the little bugger is ok. |
We continue to keep you and Koda in our thoughts and prayers. |
Hey guys he is doing ok!!! He is at the vet right now has been since 5:45am, I was finally able to get ahold of Jason around 5:30am to come home. I called him for almost 2 hours straight every second. His cell phone was in the job trailor and he was in the store. We live in a smaller town and all taxi service had ended by 3am, and my mom had my 10mos old niece and couldn't fit her, my 3 boys, myself etc into her car. OMG I never want to live through that again EVER. I honostly thought I was going to lose it, with the fear of being stuck out here and Koda being so sick. I need to apologize to everyone for not being able to update after posting but I hook up my Blackberry to my laptop for internet service and can't make calls and be online at the same time. I was in conctact with the national animal poison control as soon as I got offline Thank you Dena and alaska yorkie :) It took a minute to try and tell them everything because I couldn;t stop bawling and shaking myself. Since it was unsure what he could have gotten into their advice was to wrap him tightly and warmly and go immerdiately to the vet and call the vet on the way, no time to waste. I told them the situation of having no vehicle here and they still couldn't give advice due to the cause being unknown. just to find a ride somehow and get there ASAP. It said at the beginning af the call to have a credit card ready but fortunately they never mentioned any charge. I was in contcat with my vet minutes after that and he said to call him back when I was able to come in and he would head in. I am so sorry of the pics i posted were too much, I know he didn;'t look good but was trying to get any help i could by maybe someone seeing them. OK Koda, we can;t figure out anything he could have gotten into here at the house as our house is basically baby/yorkie proof, lol! His food is Merrick Grammy's Pot PIe we switched from turkducken last time for a little change. but he has been eating it for about 2 weeks now with no problems. Lately he has been reverse sneezing a couple of times a day too. Doc Yacaprar thinks it is a toxic reaction liek you guys said. But we just don;t know to what until everything comes back. U ntil then Koda will remain there. Sorry this post ios all over the place I am tired and not thinking straight. Koda is at the vets and they are running all sorts of blood tests and observing him. Thankfully by the time I left the office was open so there is a bunch of staff there around him. When I left he had stopped shaking the vet gave him soemthing through his IV to help calm and he was becoming less rigid and stiff feeling, but he wa s still out of it and just seemed so sleepy. I called as soon as i got up and they said he seemed very fully alert and basically normal, just scared and crying alot. I have to get going, we have preschool orientation at 1 and I'm off to see my baby and hopefully bring him home. I swear i am going to search this house from top to bottom and everything outside where he pottys until i find something, I will just lose it if this ever happens again Thank you everypone, I hope I will never have to post anything like this ever again. |

Im so glad he is ok. You must be exhausted from all the stress and worry. I couldnt quit thinking of you and Koda since I got up this am and read your post. Im glad it had a happy ending. |
OMG, ERIN - so glad you posted, I was really worried. I'm even tearing UP here at work after reading the update!! I hope this was just a fluke and he got into something funky. In the meantime, I have Koda in my thoughts and I'm just SO glad to hear this update. HUGS. |
I am so glad he seems to be better. I hope you get to bring him home and ya'll can get some rest. My prayers and thoughts are still with you. |

Thanks for updating us and let us know after you hopefully pick him up from the vet. HUGS to you both!! :ghug: |
Thank God Koda is doing better! He will be in my thoughts until he is home safe and sound! What a great vet to meet you so early in a small town. Keep us posted! |
Glad to hear Koda is in good hands. Just out of curiosity, have you used some pet-safe slug-bait in your gardens? I have been investigating it as a possibility of Ziggy's last gastro issue. |
I am so glad he's doing better. Thanks for the update! |
Thank God things are looking better. It was pretty late when this was going on, and I too lost sleep thinking of poor little Koda. Hope you'll find the source of the problem so it won't be a nagging mystery. Guess this can also serve as a lesson to all of us to have a pet emergency plan in place just in case it is needed, including emergency numbers and transportation. Hugs to you! |
I am so glad you got Koda to the vet and he was stabilized. I hope the bloodwork will give you some answers and Koda makes a full recovery. Please keep us posted. |
I'm so glad you posted the update on little Koda. I've been worrying about him since I logged in this morning. I know how you must be freakin' out. Thank goodness he's getting back to normal. Hope he's home soon. Still thinking about you and Koda. |
I am so happy that Koda is feeling better. I pray that you find the mystery behind all this. I tried to take a nap earlier after Jack had gone out but I had a hard time falling asleep. I had been waiting for the update. Let us know what they (the vets) come up with. :hands: PRAYING FOR KODA:hands: |
It's great to see an update after coming back from lunch. Thank the heaven's above he is doing well. I can't imagine the fright you went through last night. Poor Koda not knowing what was wrong with him. Any way someone could have thrown something to him over a fence? Just a thought. Erin, I'm so happy for you things are going to be ok. |
OMG.. Thanks for the update. Fortunately for my sanity you had posted the update by time I found this thread. I was madly reading for an update, and was so worried for your little guy. Praying that your Vet finds the culprit for his symptoms and he will be fine! |
Thanks for the update and thank God Koda is okay!!! Looking forward to the next update that says he is home with you and good as new..... |
Just seen this...Thank goodness Koda is ok. I bet you were so scared |
Oh Erin, I am so glad that you were able to get Koda into the vet and they are looking into every possibility with testing, etc. I can imagine how terrified you must have been!! I'll hold your little guy in my prayers that he comes home safe n' sound very soon with no ill affects from this strange occurrence. A nervous wreck or not, you did a great job! :) |
Have you recently had either your home or yard sprayed? Also, I'm in Florida, and the symptoms that Koda was exhibiting are very similar to symptoms my Cockapoo, Chipper (RIP) exhibited when he had an encounter with a Buffo Toad. They are extremely poisonous and they can be deadly. Just a thought. I'm glad that he seems to be doing better. I just thought of the things above and figured it wouldn't hurt to suggest them as another avenue of investigation. I'm praying for a complete recovery for little Koda. You have to be exhausted, mentally, physically and emotionally. |
Just had to check back in to see what was going on with your little baby. So relieved that you were able to get him to the vet and that things look good. Hope he's home with you soon. |
I'm very happy for an update, releived he made it to the vet, and still concerned about him. There was NOTHING wrong with your pictures and update....they are both very explanatory and helful to us that are concerned. I know we'll all be checking back in to see how your boy is doing. |
Thank God he is o.k. Just saw this thread and read the whole thing, maybe I can quit shaking. Sure will say more prayers for him and You too. |
