| Update On BearBear and the Diarrhea Hi Everyone! First I want to say thank you for all the great feedback...I Also want to let everyone know that My Husband talked to a different Vet today and she Immediatlly said that all the symptoms were that of a parasite called Giardia...so she went a head and put him on a round of antibiotics and a anti-diarrhea medicine....My husband I realized that when our neighbor back flushes his pool that water will stand for days between the houses and that Bear AKA Teddy probably was outside drinking the water... Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts and pray that this will make things better....I am also going to be changing his food!!...I couldnt believe all the deathes and sickness from this brand of food!! It makes me mad as hell to think of these poor babies that suffered all because of them eating this dog food Any suggestions on a new dogfood would be greatly appreciated! Once again thanks to all who took the time to comment back Ted and I are very gretful! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | GREAT! Hopefully she did a fecal for giardia (although giardia often hides under scope)? You should know that giardia can reinfect over and over - so you'll need to clean everywhere he's been w/ bleach water. As he's healing (and all this time), he'll be shedding "giardia cysts" and these can reinfect him just as soon as he's better, so you'll want to clean as best you can. Good kibbles are: Natures Variety Instinct, Orijen, Canidae, Wellness Core.

| I am so happy you went to another vet. Finger's crossed your little one responds to the meds. Yes, cleaning everthing with Bleach is so very important so that he will not become reinfected. Canadie, Wellness, Natural Balance and Merricks are just a few of the uppper scale kibbles. Some of the above also come in can food. Adding boiled chicken breast and veggies to any of the above are also good and nurishing to your little one. Good luck and hope everything turns out perfect. |
