Dudley Not Feeling Good It was either last week or the week before Dudley was throwing up yellow flym for a couple of days and then he was fine. Well yesterday he started doing it again and he was quiet last night. Hubby, I and the kids were watching TV and he was in son's room on his bed sleeping, and that is NOT like him, he is always in the same room as us. Then hubby took him down to his mom's for a bit and he was quiet there too, which again is not like him. MIL said he was coughing but nothing came up. Then this morning he threw up yellow flym again and sometime he did it in son's room and there was also a diarrhea spot on son's floor and Dudley had poo stuck to his bottom. Early this morning hubby gave him his treats and he didn't eat them then, but just ate them now. He is still barking out the window and seems fine except for when he has his moments I guess when he feels icky, that he lays around. What do you think, just a virus or something else?

we had this problem with Layla.. for about 5 nights in a row she threw up yellow liquid. It was because her tummy was empty. We now make sure she gets small amounts of snacks often... especially before bed. I would definitly give him some pro biotic yogurt at some point every day.. it's great to keep things normal in their bellies. Layla is lactose intolerant so i just started last night using baby food (The fruit kind.. it' sjust apples and blueberries mixed together) she isn't CRAZY about (But Layla has never liked fruits) But it keeps her from getting sick at night.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Gosh, I don't know....not much is coming to mind for this little guy. You didn't switch foods or anything recently right? New treats? And you are free feeding him? Like Marci and Deb said, they can be sensitive to having empty tummies - so if he's not a "gulper" you may want to consider free feeding.

I ended up calling the Vet and she said she has seen a lot of sick doggies this week, so she said to give him some Pepcid (qtr of a tablet) and so we did and he seems better. He still isn't eating much, but we have seen him drink so I am glad about that. We leave his food out all the time, he is not a "gulper". He doesn't have that sad face tonight like he did. Vet said if he isn't better Monday, she wants to see him.

Well I THOUGHT he was feeling better last night but he started dry heaving and now this morning, he won't take a Pepcid because he doesn't want to eat and we are putting it in food and he smells it and turns his head. How do I get him to take it? I think he will be going to the Vet tomorrow. Poor puppy.

I took Dudley to the Vet Monday. They did Xrays and said it looked like a piece of food in his tummy but everything else looked good and his bloodwork looked good. His Sodium was a little low but she said with him being sick, that could be why and we will watch it. So I had to give him Laxtone Monday and had to take him back Tuesday morning for another Xray. Well then Tuesday's Xrays, she said she could see gas in his colon, which is normal, but she seen gas UNDER his colon and that is not normal, but with him being sick, could be why and we'll watch it. Anyway they gave me some can food to try but he won't eat it. Yesterday afternoon he started eating a little and last night seemed chippier and happy face. This morning he seemed better but then around lunchtime he started acting sick again and he ate a little chicken, he will NOT eat his dog food. He drank a little water but he seems restless so I gave him some more Laxatone, wondering if he is constipated, a couple of times he scooted his bottom on the carpet. Now he is just sleeping and won't eat anything I offer him. The Vet said if he doesn't eat, then they want to hook him up to IV's, they gave him fluids Monday and said he was hydrated then, but he is going to get dehydrated if he doesn't eat ugggg. If the vomiting continues, they want to do exploratory surgery, but the vomiting has stopped I think, he hasn't vomited since Sunday night. If he doesn't get over this, they might still want to do exploratory surgery, I don't know. The Vet did say that he is too thin, he weighs 5lbs 3oz but his bone structure, she said he needs to gain about a 1/2 lb. How do I get him to eat? I have tried everything he usually likes and he won't take it.
