Oh Brooke, I'm almost crying thinking about Steddy hurting! I'm praying there's a simple solution to his problem and it will be discovered when you get him into the vet in the morning! Poor little guy! And poor you too...I know how scared and unable to think about anything else til you have some answers.....I know you'll let us know, but just remember you've got all our prayers behind ya! I know you're just beside yourself....I would be too....good luck and I can't wait to hear how he's doing better in the morning!!!! HUGE HUGE HUGS to all of you from the S. CA desert!!!!! |
Brooke - just to give him a little relief for the night, what about trying a warm soak. Fill the sink with warm water, hold Stedman by his bottom and just let him sit in the warm water. I know after having my babies warm baths always made me feel better "down there". |

Gosh Brooke...I feel so bad to hear Stedman is having problems. I will pray for him and I hope it's something simple and an easy fix. Hugs to you. I don't blame you for worrying. It's so hard to see them ill! |
Oh no!! I am sorry to hear Stedman isn't feeling well, poor little guy.:( Do you think he has crystals blockage? My cat had that and he would cry out and pain when trying to go to the bathroom and he wasn't able to. I have heard it can happen in dogs too. It seems to be most common in males. I am glad you are taking him to the vet, if he has crystals he will need treatment right away. Here is an article on stones and crystals, it says yorkies are one of the breeds that are known for it. Calcium Oxalate Crystals in Dog Urine I will say a prayer for Stedman and that he gets some relief soon!! Please keep us updated on what the vet says. Hugs to you and Stedman!! |

Stedman I am so sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. I hope the dogtor can make everything alright. I'll check in on you after work today. Saying a prayer for you.:animal-pa |
oh no Brooke, i'm sorry to hear that Steddy still isn't pooping and now not peeing. I can't think of something that would cause both not to happen. When dogs can't pee its usually because there are crystals or stones in the bladder. When they can't poop its usually because there is such a back up of poop they just can't get it out, or there is a mass, or they have prostate problems. If we do surgery on an animal that can't poop (usually have many months of trying other options) we give them an enema or two to get things moving. warm soapy water is what we use most of the time, however the trick is to get it as far up there as you can. to do this we use a type of tube attached to a syringe. Push the water through slowly because if you go to fast you can cause the poop to come out the other end, ie his mouth and that is just not pleasant for either participant. Honestly i just wouldn't do anything until he was seen by a vet. don't give him any meds from home, especially aspirin, because if they are still working when the vet sees him it may skew his exam. i hope you get good news from the vet today and its nothing serious |
