| Some Kind of Cyst??? HELP!!!!! I found a bump on my 5 month old Ella's upper part of her right leg, towards her neck...kind of by what you might consider her shoulder bone in human terms. (It's like the size of a dime if it were a ball if that makes sense). I've read somewhere that it could be a reaction to her rabies shot...which she did get about a week ago. I know it definitely just appeared withing the last 24 hours because I groom and pet her every day. I'm very concerened....Any thoughts???? Please help!! |

| I am not sure what it could be. Lily always gets a dime sized lump form her shots but it usually shows up the day after the shots.

| It's probably not from the rabies shot as they are given in the rump usually but other vaccinations are typically given between the shoulder blades and can leave a lump for a while. |

| I'm pretty sure he gave all of them to her up by her shoulderblades. If so...is it possible it could show up a week later??? I'm very concerned for my baby. |

| When I took Lucky for his last set of shots which included the rabies he got a bump in the same place you are talking about in about the same time frame. The bump went away and he had a place about the size of a nickel that was dry and flaky and no hair in the same spot. I took him to the vet and he said it was a reaction to his shots. It has finally started healing and hair is starting to come back in. It has been about 3 weeks now since his shots. Hope this helps you. Oh, I am giving his antibodics that are supposed to help with the dry flaky skin. I hate those shots.

| Well, if she was given the shot between the shoulder blades, it certainly is possible to have a lump there and it may not show up for a few days. |

| I'm shocked and relieved to hear that this could be from the shots. I certainly hope that this is the case, as it would mean that it is something that will go away on its own. It is just crazy to believe that a shot can cause something so scary!!! |

| Yea I'm gonna watch it and see what happens...I've got some health issues of my own I'm concerned about right now...but If it's still there in a few weeks I'm definitely taking her. If it's something that needs to be removed, they might b able to do it with her spay. |
