| Kidney disease please help I had Royce's kidney values rechecked last week, his Urea went up to 43 ( it was stable for 1 year and a half around 18-20 ) the normal range is between 2 and 9 . His creatinine is within normal ranges and his UPC urine protein creatinin ratio is 0.6 which means he is not loosing proteins through his urine . As per the vet Royce is not in kidney failure because his creatinine is normal ... He cannot explain why his urea went up ...we will recheck in one month .. Please for all of you who had yorkies with kidney disease please advise . |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When Dixie had kidney failure her BUN and creatine were so high they were off the charts at the regular vets. I was referred to a kidney specialist(nephrologist). Maybe a consult with one would helo answer some questions. I hope everything is oK

| Only the BUN is elevated, the creatinine is normal . His vet suggested that we retest in a month, he doesn't think the BUN is elevated because there is a problem wt the kidneys ...also his upc ratio is normal...will retest in a month and we will see. |
