I just talked to Caren. Mia has a torn ligament and maybe a mild concussion. The vet gave her good pain meds and she's sleeping. Caren is totally exhausted of course but I'm sure she'll be around to tell the whole story. |
Thanks for the update....glad it's nothing more serious....;) Tina |

Get Well Soon, Mia. :getwell: |
Praying she heals quickly! She'll soon be back to chasing squirrels. |
Oh Mia....I'm glad you are getting some sleep. Caren sorry this is going on with you and Mia. Hope you are resting also. I know it helps just even knowing exactly what is going on now. You're in our thoughts!! |
Ouch Mia! I hope you feel better soon...don't want those pesky squirrels taking over your yard. |
Aw. Poor baby girl! And poor momma! At least she knows what's wrong now and they can start getting better.:) |

I think they think it will heal on its own. She has to go back on Tuesday for a follow up. I felt so bad for her. The vet said in some ways it's worse than a break because it is much more painful.:( I'm sure Caren is napping (I hope so) because she was up all night with her. |
A friend's yorkie recently tore a ligament in her leg. She had to keep her confined for a couple of days...but Molly healed really quickly. |
Oh no, Caren I'm just now seeing this. Poor little Mia. :( Please give that sweet baby girl tons of kisses from all of us. I hope she feels better real soon. |

:hug:Oh I just read this, poor Mia. How's she doing now? Time will heal...so don't worry. Sending you and Mia both a hug!!! |
Hey you guys. OMG I am so sorry I am just now getting on to update you all. THANK YOU NIKKI for the update! Mia is doing alright. She is really not a happy camper but I am hoping the pain relievers I am giving her are helping. Okay so first off my evening was bad but than I got up and was at MY vet (The vet I love so much) at 7am. I was actually turned away because the front gate keeper said he had 5 surgeries and was already over booked. OKAY so I understand he was busy but it is not like I was in there for a check up. I even said I was willing to wait in the lobby all day with her until he had time to see me. BUT no!!! I was so upset so I just got Mia and started driving to other vets nearby. I found one right next to my house and the Vet was fantastic. She squeezed us in and I am thinking of switching to her permanently. Any way...after seeing Mia she said her little foot is not broken but she has a lot of swelling and a torn muscle and partial torn ligament. She is not going to need surgery at this point but instead wants me to just try to keep her off of it which is proving to not be as hard since she really does not want to walk on it at all. The medicine I have given her or the vet gave her knocked her out for the day. She gave her a shot to get it in her blood stream fast. Also the vet seems to think she may have a slight concussion so need to watch her for that as well. I am only to take her back on Tuesday if she has not improved. Thank you again all for your thoughts and prayers and so sorry to make you all wait so long for an update. I was just crazy busy with her and some other things today and still have not had a chance to rest, I have a feeling it’s going to be an early night for all of us. :) |
Good news Caren.....glad you found a good vet;). Hope you all get a good night rest. tina |
