Donating YT Addict | Bad week with Waffles Well our bad week started on weds, woke to Waffles throwing up. Didn't think much of it the first time as she does do that from time to time. Then at 1145am she did it again. Then the pooing started. I called vet right away. Vet said cant get her in till 320pm. I said ok. I hung up the phone took her to the back yard to sun. Then she started having what looked like projectile vomiting. I got her crate down and got her in the truck. On way there she threw up again. This time it was speckled with blood flakes. I Was at vet 20 mins after I had called them. I said sorry, I know I have an appt in 3 hours. BUT this cant wait till then. Well vet checked her out. Tummy was ok, not rigid, tender. Temp was slightly elevated as it always is there. She has a fear of the vet and big dogs. I was there for over an hour with him checking her our and watching her. We did fecal test. She was acting normal other than throwing up and poop troubles. He said gastro issue or virus and sent me home with gastro safe canned food and 2 meds Sucralfate and Famotidine. She gets those 2 times a day with food and I'm to feed her 2 tbsp of the food every 2-3 hrs. Well we were released and went home. As soon as I got home she ate, gave her the meds. Things started to calm down a bit. Still throwing u blood flakes, and pooing black ish poo weds evening. Thursday she woke at 4am and threw up more blood flakes. I called vet when they opened. He said it was expected at this point doe to intestinal and esophagus inflammation due to her being sick. She was still not her normal bubbly self yet not acting really ill either. Vet called back an hour later to check up on her and tell me fecal came back neg for giardia and parasites. So that's great news. Friday its been 24 hours with no bloody vomit or poop! Its the little things in life we celebrate She is adjusting to the vets food. And actually asking for it! She had a normal BM in the morning. Just a slight bit darker in color. Vet said that could be from food and meds. Saturday shes still not 100% but acting more herself. She found her (baby) Her little stuffed squirrel she carries around so that's more normal. What a scary week! Im hoping we are over the worst of it. She is on the food for a week minimum, and the pills for 14 days. Anyway, just wanted to check in. Hope everyone on here is well and enjoys their Christmas and New Year.
