I am sorry you received bad news. Cali has MVD but is so mild that she is not on any meds. I try and watch her protein levels. She also has garde 4 LP which is not bothering her right now. Hopefully Morgan's MVD and LP will stay mild and not require treatment. I will keep her in my prayers.

Kellie what type of test did you ask the vet for? When Layla goes for blood work in October i want her to have this test as well since she has to fast for the bloodwork anyways.. .what am i asking for?

ahh, I am so sorry!! It is just makes you feel bad when you baby has something wrong!
I am sorry for you both, but know she is getting whatever she needs with you!Your knowledge is a blessing to you both!

hopefully morgan will be just like Cali and show no symptoms for a long time.

i did a Bile Acid Test. I fasted her for 12 hours (some don't do this) then i took some blood for the pre test, gave her a tsp of a/d, then two hours later drew some more blood for the post test.

i see this type of stuff everyday with other people's pets but the thought of it being my own is horrible. OMG i can only imagine how i'd be if morgan went to surgery. They would have to kick me out of the surgery ward LOL

That is what Ellie's specialist said also.
Denosyl isn't necessary (because she doesn't really have symptoms) but it can only help. I decided that since Ellie's bile acids went up to 106 without Denosyl, it would be best to use it (no shunt or mvd as far as the vets can tell). I'd like to maintain her on diet alone but her BA are just too high and I don't want to find out later that it could've helped her if I used it and I chose not to, so I will continue. I don't like the price though.:rolleyes:

Denosyl is pricey huh?

hopefully her bile acids won't go up anymore and she won't need them. i hope they go down in the next few months when i test her again.

Thanks. Morgan is still as happy as ever though, thank god. she\'s still running laps around the room like a psycho. hahaha
