Bernie...Bless your little heart. Winston and I are tickled to see his friend feeling oh so much better. Keep up the good work, keep getting stronger every day. Hugs and kisses from both of us to both of you!!! |
Update Bernie has had his stitches out and is allowed to return to "regular activity!" LOL, whatever that is.:) He is still favoring the leg, especially when he's tired out, but the sparkle is back in his eye! We had a scare last Monday. We got home and he had removed a couple of stitches himself! A phone call to the vet, and a trip to the store later, and Mr. Bernie was fitted with an e-collar.:) He took it in stride (he really is a good boy) but had trouble with the concept that his head had gotten bigger. Silly boy kept crashing into things. :p The biggest problem we had with the collar was Ginger. I think it offended her. LOL, she is offended by so many things. She kept following him around and chewing on it. Then sitting in a corner and pouting. I'm not sure, but I think she was trying to get it off of him. Bernie is doing well. We're still icing the area daily since he still seems to be a little sore, but he's off all meds, using the stairs (sometimes...sometimes he's tired and he just waits for us to carry him) Thanks to all of you for your support! It was great to have a place to vent about what was going on! You all are wonderful!!! |
It sounds like he's improving daily, and that's great! I can just imagine Ginger getting indignant about Bernie having to wear a collar. lol! Take it easy, Bernie. |
Thanks for the update! Sounds like Bernie boy is headed for complete and successful recovery!! ;) Hopefully, little Ginger is just trying to look after her brother. |
Great news on the update there!! WTG Berni:)e!!! |
Little Bernie. Tink and I are very glad you got your stitches out and don't have to wear a collar anymore! Tink is a little under the weather today but is sending you some snuggles - no nose licks cause she doesn't want you to get sick.;) |
Bernie...happy to hear you're on the mend. Winston and I have been thinking about you and hoping all is well!!! |
Bernie Buddy Hey, Bernie. It sounds like you are feeling better. Personally, I can run up the stairs but sometimes it feels nice when Momma carries me too. I also have had to wear a plastic collar and then the vet gave me a soft collar. Those are really nice, Bernie. Give Ginger a kiss from Uncle Charlie, quit playing doctor, Bern. See you in the funny papers - Charlie |

Judy, Thanks for posting that pic of Bernie in his e-collar. It did make me smile. :) I had to laugh when you wrote that Bernie had trouble with the concept that "his head had gotten bigger". :grin2: And that Ginger was chewing on it. :D Bernie, glad your feeling a little better.:aimeeyork Use those stairs to the bed that your mommy bought for you. It will help you to get into that nice, soft bed to lay down on. What a nice mommy you have to buy things to make your recuperation easier. |

You have to start using your leg Bernie. If Tink were here she would tell you to put it down and walk on it Bernie!:) |
Update and Thank You!!! :woof:Bernie seems to be fully recovered!:woof: He's using the stairs, going for walks, wrestling with Ginger, and eating. He'll be ready to dance just as soon as Tink can join him. Right now we are all praying for her to get better. Thank you all so much for being there during our little ordeal. It really means a lot! |
