I would give him some pedialyte now if you haven't already .He won't drink a huge amount.so it probaly doesn't matter how much. Now this is only my opinion. Hope he's ok. |
I'd take a stool sample in the vet today...cocida is a problem with young puppies sometimes... I'm not sure the age of your yorkie. I have a friend going through that right now with two of hers and they are on Albon for it... It was picked up from a visiting pup that had it....She was so upset by it all...But they are gonna be fine now that they are on meds... |
I hope your baby is being taken care of this morning...keep us updated for future reference re pedialite mix 50/50 water |
???????????????????????????? Please give us an update on your baby. We are all concerned and care! |
Hi all Jack is a bit better today just wanted to let you guys know. :) Thanks for everyones support and advice. |
I had to take Lilli to the Vet last month because she got into the wrong puppy food and she was in the ER Vet for two days with a IV in her leg and she got so bad0 she couldnt even drink water she would throw that back up so if I where you I would take yours to the vet and get some Meds for him or her.My vet told me to give Lilli 1/4 of Pepcid AD and that only made it worse but dont what to long it could only get worse.Yorkies have such delicate tummies anything could make it worse.Hope this helps Kristi |
IF I were in your place I would just go to the vet asap - eating foam can be very dangerous - GOOD LUCK with your baby...I HOPE he feels better FAST ! |
Jack Hi all :) I took Jack to the vet yesterday with a stool sample and the vet did not find anything that was a relief. He ended up giving me amoxicillian with some medication to help bind. Jack is doing much better. no more middle of the night diarrhea or during the day. He is eating and driniking with issues so he's on the road to recovery :) Thanks all for your support and help. :aimeeyork Jack and Mandy's mom :animal36 |

RE: delicate Yorkie belly 1 Attachment(s) Our Yorkie had some bad belly issues when he was less than a year old; our vet recommended that we feed him wet "W/D" dog food (yes, the kind you have to buy at special stores) in the morning as his breakfast--it had the effect of "binding" and his belly problems went away. We still feed him the wet W/D each morning (admittedly warmed up in the microwave and then smushed on a plate for him) and then dry food in the evening, and his belly is just fine. Every once in a while he'll have a little problem again and we give him cottage cheese with his dry food, then the problem goes away. But belly problems with these wee ones are scary. Once, we called the emergency vet hotline to ask whether we should bring him in when he had a problem, and the vet said "it's up to you, but the little ones go downhill fast." (!) So, of course, we took him in. Turned out he just had gas. Better safe than sorry, I guess. |
1 Attachment(s) So glad your baby is better, remember to reintroduce food very slowly with the chicken and rice, only a few kibble at a time with the chicken and rice untill his tummy is better...........so sounded like Coccidia to me..........am glad your baby is better...........Gracie and Boodah send puppy kisses |
