yeah it could be just that, i know since lacey has lost so much weight she gets alot colder faster then her sister does. so a hair cut might do it:) |
Several years ago an acquaintance had her dog shaved. When they brought the dog home it went under the bed and refused to eat. Later I heard it had died. The owner said she figured it died of shame. Don't think she was a good owner to just allowed the dog to starve.:thumbdown |
Well, now she isn't shaking much at all and it isn't like her hair grew that much in three days. It was probably just a Yorkie thing. And of course when I click submit, she will start again. |
Ellie May, My dog has LS too and he has this happened. it was explained to me by other LS people that these dogs have a very difficult time regulating their body temperature. My dog will literally sleep by the heating vent with his head on the hot vent. If a house is under 68 degrees he will shake just like what you are describing. also, I have noticed that if his bladder is bothering him (infection coming on) he will shake too. I use PH strips and a home test kit to monitor. Susan |

Ellie doesn't (over 95% sure) but something isn't quite right with her liver. I would attribute the shaking to that but her vet doesn't really think it is that diseased, so I don't know. |
Well, she is still shaking and I don't know what to do. Her bladder has been great lately but her GI tract/pancreas maybe not so great... I don't know what is going on but her hair is growing back and I really don't think she is that cold.   Maybe she is though.......:( I just don't know anymore. And she doesn't seem to be in pain and there is no use taking her to the vet because she only does it sometimes and I'm sure a blood test wouldn't show anything, so I don't think it can be diagnosed. |
Shaking I am so sorry, hope that you can find out soon, what is going on.:( :( |
It's funny you post this because I just gave Frederick a haircut the other day and have noticed him shaking too....and it's warm inside here too! Strange! :animal-pa |
shaking HI, read the posts about shaking and that's exactly why I came on today. Fernando has been shaking for 2 days now. Ironically, starting right after he got a pretty short hair cut. I've been so worried because he does have MVD and even spoke with the vet today. I need to take his temp and bring him in tomorrow if no change. He has been on his diet and meds as usual and is acting fine otherwise. Appetite is good (too good) but, he is a bit more clingy. I'm very concerned as he has been doing just fine and has been so energetic. I'm praying it's not a sign of toxins or anything and just a coincidence to his new haircut. I vaguely recall him doing this once before with a short haircut. |
