My hubby was out of town all weekend .... I was Very warm under the covers with my 3;)

If you do use rice bags, be careful they chew it up and eat the raw rice.

Awwww my husband always said that too...and for 39 years our dogs have slept with us. He fell under their spell.

I found it last night it is called a snuggle safe and I ordered one based on all of the reviews that I read. I only wish that I would have had it by tommorrow since I get to go get my baby tommorrow. yeah :)

And another happy customer, I think that I am going to be very pleased with it. Does it get too hot, and does it really stay warm for 10-12 hours?

my Cricket was 16 ounces when i finally got to bring her home!! and I simply could not let her get chilled! not in the least,, i bought a brand new heating pad, ,had it here when i brought her home,, I placed it under her Crate,, which kept her crate/bed plenty warm,, with her bedding,,only thing,, FIRST night,, 1:35 AM i heard the faintest tiny whimpering,, Thank goodness i slept lightly,,I got up thinking she'd need to potty,, and she was COLD to the touch ,shivering slightly,, making the most pitiful little whimper,, I checked and the Brand new heating pad had shut itself OFF,, New Safety Feature for senior citizens,, so they dont fall asleep and damage their skin,, so I quickly got Cricket out,, warmed her up by holding and rubbing her, gave her NutriCal,,she was fine,, soon as she warmed. thats when i discovered the "flaw" in the heating pad,, i returned it that morning and found an old fashioned kind without the auto shutoff. and she slept with it under her crate for over 6 months! and I gave her NutriCal at least daily til she was over a yr old 3 times a day when she was so small.

You'll definitely want to put it under a blanket, it's very hot at first. I'm not sure exactly how hot it stays for that time, but I remember it did come with a chart that shows how it works, and its temperature throughout the hours.

Ellie has one (well, she shares with me;) ). It is a great invention but it doesn't stay hot that long. I would get two of them and switch after 4-6 hours. It shouldn't get too hot with the cover on it but if it does, you can put another blanket over top of it. The only thing I don't like about it is, it is too hard and not comfortable for them to lay on but it will probably work well for you.

When Bella had her litter of puppies we put a heated blanket under one side of the crate and the heat radiated up through the plastic bottom and their blankies....it worked really well and if they got too warm the could crawl to the other cooler side. also maybe try some jammies if all else fails i would seriously consider letting the pup sleep with you i know hubby might not like it but too bad! haha i tell my bf to deal with it!
