Iam so sorry about your baby, Prayers on the way for you all.. |
It takes a special person to take care of a special needs dog and I think you have made the right decission not to give up on this little baby. When ours passed away from diabetes the vet told me that alot of people would have put him down along time ago. We gave 2 shots and special care to him for alittle over 2 years of being diagnosed and I would do it all over again. Good luck and prayers coming your way. Take good care of that baby and you will never regret it, and I know you will. |
I just had to ask one question.. Did the neurologist do a MRI?? if not how do they know that it is going to perment?? is it because of the way the disc slipped.. I think water therapy would be great for Bentley but you would have to make sure you get the okay from your docs. Also please check out Babybear's dogster page. There is a lot of information on there.. http://www.dogster.com/dogs/136060 you will see water therapy, Me teaching to use his wheelchair, Acupuncture and many other things.. So please take a moment if you have time to see what i do for Babybear.. He was paralyzed from the neck down he at the beginning could not move anything for a long time. But with the therapies and his acupuncture he started to do things and then when he got the RIGHT cart( I say this because you can go to many cart dealers or call them but it doesn't mean you will get what you need.. I learned this the hard way) Since having the right cart he can walk with out me holding him.. This is a great accomplishment for Babybear and I know a cart simular to babybear's would be great for Bentley.. Bentley would need a rear wheel cart but http://www.Eddieswheels.comis the place to get it.. They stand behind thier work for the life of the dog.. Not many do that if any.. Please check into Babybear's page and call Leslie at Eddies and chat with her on your options.. she is wonderful.. |
You and Bentley have been on my mind and in my prayers...I wish him well...I really do. How's it going? I sure hope it gets easier for you both, I know it must be a difficult situation to handle...and for this I am truly sorry. I am happy to hear he has his spirit back...that in itself is an improvement. Know that we're here for you...if there's anything we can do to help. Hugs to you and kisses galore for Bentley!!! |
Prayers are on their way to you and Bentley. I'm so proud of you for taking on the responsibility of Bentley's care with everything else you have to do. It shows that: 1. You are mature. 2. You know your responsibilities and take them seriously. 3. You love your precious baby with all your heart and will do whatever it takes to keep him safe and happy. Please know that there is a wealth of information here at YT. Stay in touch with the members that have dealt with this. They are here to help you and the rest of us are here to support you. Take care, keep yourself healthy, and, above all, be strong. |
I am really in awe of this? Is he on Prednisone and pain meds? I can't believe this is permanent. Did they do an MRI or CT or xray? Please tell us more. Connie is a member here and her little Kirby had a disc issue, where his back legs were paralyzed. He had to stay in a Cat Cage (so he couldn't move) and he was on Prednisone and Tramadol and he remained contained for about 2 months...BUT he is ok now and he is walking again  http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-kirby-go.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ate-kirby.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...improving.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ray-kirby.html |
