| baby teeth I have 6 month old yorkie and wanted to get her fixed. Well when we got there the vet recommened we get her baby teeth pulled because they were blocking the new ones. Well now I have to take her back next week because I wasnt ready for the extra expense that day and they want to do everything the same day. I never knew dogs had teeth issues like this. Now one question I have is her breath is really bad sometimes. Will the dental bones or greenes help this? Could it be her food she is eating Canidae. I watch her all the time but I wonder if she could have ate some stool at one point not sure. If so she doesnt do it all the time because I monitor her 95 percent of the time. |

| There are other threads on here about this same thing. Her breath could have something to do with the baby teeth. A lot of people on here have said that food gets caught between the baby teeth and the adult teeth and causes nasty breath. I dont know how long her breath has been bad. I hate to say this but I have to deal with poopy breath pretty regularly and it doesnt last very long. So if its been going on more than say half a day, its probably just her teeth needing to be pulled.

| I guess that could be the case I didnt think of that. I wonder if she drinks more water will that help wash it down. The breath smells like the old dog food or poop so that could be food stuck in there. Well apr 1st is her new doc appt I will deal with it until then. This will be the first appt she can get at her new vet. I sometimes wonder if I should just get pet insurance? |

| I think bad breath is commom with teething! Please don't feed greenies! They have killed dogs, they don't break down and the pieces can puncture them inside!! I will never give one to my dog......I have two friends who lost their dogs because of them!

| The retained teeth can cause bad breath. Yorkie teeth should be brushed often (I prefer 1x daily) because their teeth can be horrible. If they aren't brushed, some very likely will have to be pulled later. Even if they are brushed there can still be problems.
