| Do you know how much he ate? My Hoku scooped up a dropped chocolate covered almond the other night and the peroxide worked in just a couple minutes - I found the nut whole My vet's office said there wasn't enough chocolate (it was milk chocolate) in one piece to hurt her. Howz your little one doing now?

| Give him the peroxide. How much chocolate did he eat and what kind? Do they want him on an IV? Ellie ate chocolate when she was younger. She ate a lot of it and I am pretty sure it was dark. She threw up 8 or 9 times and was fine. I was ignorant and didn't know she could've gotten dehydrated. All that to say your dog should be fine.

| Jake has throw up 4 or 5 times now... i made him up some food with soft food mixed in.. he ate that and has drank alot of water!!! he got a pot of gold chocolate (milk chocolate). He seems to be like his normal self running around and playing. the vet told me to watch him for the next 24 hours and she told me things to looks for like excessive throwing up.. extremely hyper and diarrhea. I am extremely happy that he seems to be ok.. i was very scared there fot a while!!!

| Did he just eat one of the pieces? If that's all and you caught it quickly, he should be fine.

| Milk chocolate is the least dangerous, thank heavens. Using a dose of 100 mg/kg as the toxic dose it comes out roughly as: 1 ounce per 1 pound of body weight for Milk chocolate 1 ounce per 3 pounds of body weight for Semisweet chocolate 1 ounce per 9 pounds of body weight for Baker's chocolate. So, for example, 2 oz. of Baker's chocolate can cause great risk to an 15 lb. dog. Yet, 2 oz. of Milk chocolate usually will only cause digestive problems. http://www.talktothevet.com/ARTICLES...olatetoxic.HTM |
