Brownie has got welts all over him body i just gave him half of benadrl if anyone delt with allergies like this please pm or message me here i will give you my number !

my hands are shaking like crazy !

if the benedryl doesn't work soon i'd take him to the ER. he might need something stronger.

are you sure its the bully stick? is it a new one that he's never had before?

yes it started a few mins after he had the bully stick its a merick one
hes always had problems with beef but never the bully sticks i gues this one is hitting him

is it just a rash you notice? is he having problems breathing or is he swelling up anywhere?

his back has welts

ok. if he gets worse or the welts don't go away 15 minutes after you gave him the benadryl call the emergency clinic and tell them. ask if he should be seen. Since he has no swelling or trouble breathing i wouldn't be as worried.

we just got back from the vet they gave him a shot of steriods & told me to give him 25 mg of benadrl & again in the morning
it only cost $130 i thought it was gonna cost a ton more
No more bully stick for them !!

that was a quick trip to the er, i'm impressed.

glad brownie is gonna be ok.

if you interested in other chewies for him there is a holistic store not too far from me that also has an online store and they sell bison, lamb, pork, and veggie chewies.

yes there was no one there they were about to close we got therre just in time !

no theres only ONE in brooklyn & there not very good plus i dont have a car i had to ask my neightbor to take me tonight

oh wow, that's a shame. you would think there would be more in such a big city. i only know of the AMC on east 62nd st in manhattan tho so i wouldn't have been much help had you asked.

I'm glad to hear that he's ok!

The next thing is to figure out what exactly in the Bully stick caused the allergic reaction so that it doesn't happen again.

we didnt realize that a bull was beef & brownie is very allerigic to beef since weve givin them to him before we didnt even think twice

his allergies have been getting worse the last few years

brownie is better today he not as lumpy i cant believe the welts on him they were hid it even raised his hair
he need to get one more benadrl this morning
i had a half an hour of sleep i slept on the couch the vet said to listen for his breathing so i was worried even tho he said after the steriod shot it was unlikely for something to happen to his throat

glad brownie is feeling better today.

at least its sunday (and its snowing so can't really go anywhere) so you guys can lay on the couch all day and get some sleep.

I am very glad to hear Brownie is doing better. I don't know if you saw my post about anaphylactic shock but with his allergies, you might want to join me in the search for emergency aid at home. You did the right thing, giving him benedryl and taking him to the vet. I am trying to get a kit together just in case the vet is closed, or too far away! It is very scary when they stop breathing.

I am working with my vet to get a kit together that includes a benadryl shot, steroid shot and epinephrine. (got some good tips here at YT) I sure hope I NEVER have to use it!

HAHAH!! you dont know brownie he is outside with my mother playing in the snow he loves the cold !! he slept in his crate this morning for a few hours after his benadrl pill i had to put him in he didnt like the dizzy feeling i guess and was walking around crying he was better when i put him in

oh and i slept when he slept lol

uh oh, poor brownie.

maybe its something other then the bully stick? new cleaning products, laundry detergent, clothes, treats, carpet, something outside perhaps?

the vet said to give benadrl for the next couple days because the bully stick is still in his system and he felt his throat and said its only swolen on the outside
