i took a post from one of my threads and i just wondered how many would let someone they dont know well to stay in there house and sleep with there dogs i would be to afraid they would skip out in the night and take my dog
and do you believe this story

vickie here, i bought a dog from her and its the best thing ive ever done,she let me come to her house and we talked for 3 hrs , before she let me have one, its nice there and her dogs all are pets, im not showing nbut hers do look like great dogs, very responsible and caring for her dogs, they all were so beautiful, i realy just wanted another dog, i came along way to get her too, she let me stay the night there at her house so i wouldnt have to drive back thru the night, lexi was potty trained and had everthing for her, all was in order there, i would recomend her to anyone, shes great, i was afraid lexi would miss the other pup but she was fine, i let her sleep with me and my husband and she will wake us if she needs to potty, pam has it so her dogs are in the cener of her life, and shes mothering them to, realy well i think, all of them are spoiled rotten, their eyes sparkle with love for her, and shes a great person far as i can tell, gave me everything she needed free with the baby before i left, my vet loved her checked out perfect too, also pams vet raved on her , i think a vet like hers will tell you anything you need to know, he said sh gets all the tails and other stuff with him and spares no expense on her dogs, she only has a few dogs, even they slept with us while i was there, pam hasnt no children,i believe she loves them alot too bye vicki:)

1.) No, I would never let a stranger spend the night at my house or sleep with my dogs. Not that they would, my dogs would never stay in a room at night with someone that they didn't know.

2.) No, I don't believe the story. It is only a 3 hour drive from Nashville and I find it strange that she doesn't know how to spell her own name. She spells it Vickie at first and then Vicki.

Hahaha I noticed that too.. plus there are a lot of misspelled words in there and I was following the thread in the other forum and it looks A lot like someones else writing lol. but i wont point fingers as I am no expert :)

Sorry, I forgot to answer the question. I probably wouldn't let a stranger stay at my house as I'm not that brave. I have an Aunt Delora who has taken in many strangers over the years. She feels that what ever she has in her home is the Lord's anyway and if someone has to have it they are welcome to it. I'm not that generous and my faith is not there yet. I really respect people who have that kind of generous spirit though. My dogs are momma's babies and they sleep in their crates.

This was not to get something started i thought it was an intresting subject thats all.:D

I've opened my home to two complete strangers in the past couple of years. I flew a lady with Azrael from TN. to CA. and let her stay with me for a mini-vacation for a week. She had never been out of TN. Next, a few months ago when I found a home for Libby, a long haired Chihuahua puppy I got out of a shelter, I let her new mom come down from San Jose and stay with me. We are now great friends and visit back and forth. I'm a very trusting person and love to help doggies.........people too. :p

Both of those times my husband was in Alaska and I was home alone. I am not afraid, nor will I ever let thinking "what if" rule my life. Granted, if I had small kids at home I would not have put them in jeopardy.

Unless I am missing something (i'm still asleep,lol) this is not in poll form. but, to answer the question, we have had three or four beaglerss spend the night when they have driven two or three days to get here to pick a beagle up. But, as far as my yorkies, no and my yorkies wouldn't sleeep with a stranger anyway.

When I was going to CA to buy Cali, I stayed overnight with Kathryn (Kathryn_V) even though we had never met. We had talked on the phone A LOT (every single day lol), on YT and through constant e-mails; so I felt really comfortable with her. In fact, she is the one who asked me to stay overnight with her and her family. We had a BLAST and became even better friends. Then just recently, she came to visit me in NY and stayed one week.

Another time involved Nobella (vainchick5). We were great friends on YT, e-mails and the phone. She came to visit me (and another YT member Samantha) and we had an awesome time.

My two experiences were very positive but I also had a strong relationship via phone and e-mail with these two people. I would not just trust anyone in my home (especially if I had small children).

Hi , Im Trusting Too, Especially If Its A Lone Lady And A True Dog Lover That Hasnt Any Pups Or Dogs Yet, I Made Friends With 2 Or 3 People Who Now Come To Visit Regularly, Most Only Have One Pet Or One They Got From Me, I Also Do Have A Motoerhome And Can Allow Allnight Visitors That Way Too, No Im Not Always Friendly But Some People You Know Are True And Are Ok, I Did Have A Dog Stolen Wheni Was A Teenager And Just Was Married, But I Eventuallygot Him Back, I Had A Long Time Not Trusting After That, Thats One Of The Reasons I Microchip, I Dont Want Any Lost Puppies Ever, As For Overnight Visitors, I Do Limmit Only A Friend, Vet Or Puppybuyer , That May Already Paid For Their Pup, I Used To Offer Airplane Dilivery Of My Pups So Age Was Never A Problem, As Id Just Put Them Under My Seat And Hand Diliver Them Myself, Hope To Get To Do This In The Future If The Airpane Airfare Goes Down,,, Oh As For Vivki, She Has A Medical Problem And That Why I Let Her Stay, Shes A Nice Girl, Pam

it looks to me like a person that allows overnight visitors shouldn't mind those that live close by coming to our homes to pick our puppies up and see our parents.

No Way! I would never allow someone else to sleep with my Puppies! They very well might steal them, what a horrifying idea!! I agree that hospitality is a virtue, but it seems as if this story has taken things a little too far. Not to mention the grammar and spelling mistakes almost make it hard to keep up with.

I would open my home too. In most every instance it would be to someone that I've at least built an email/phone relationship with. My boys aren't small children so that wouldn't be an issue.
As for the dogs...again, might depend on the person - but I sleep with all my dogs and wouldn't want to sleep without them! Plus I doubt they would be happy if they weren't in my room :rolleyes:

i always have offered people driving long distance this, as some may have come as far as 10 hrs to get one, yes id have to feel like its ok, and my husband always has the say on this, sometimes he doesnt want the people over, if hes in his underwear!, then i can offer my motorhome, parked in the drive, its fully usable,again i always ask if theyve had one die of an illness,or if they breed, breeders are ok but they see alot of other dogs and people, i do not, and keep germs away this way, pam
