Yt Meet Up!! Two Or One?? So we are throwing around the idea of having a Yorkie Talk Meet up next summer... so we can all get together and meet the wonderful friends we have made online. But right now we are trying to see which is more popular One meet up- In a central state Two Meet ups- One on the East Coast-ish =let's pretend indiana or ohio (for arguments sake) and one on the West Coast- let's say California or Nevada. Let us know what you think!!! |
i personally like two locations.. i think more YT members will be able to attend each if it is closer to their home state and there is the possibility of driving :) |
I vote for two locations, two dates. As much as I'd like to meet everyone, I'm afraid if we just go central, we'll lose a lot of people. Darn, wish this country were a little smaller!:) |

I say two....on different dates....that way some of us could make BOTH if possible but those who can't will still get a meetup too. I would try to travel to both of them :D |

I vote ONE (Central) - just because it is pretty convienent for most people. Plus, there are some big cities w/ nice big airports, etc. in the central US, to make flights and driving easy. If you are looking for direct flights....I believe that Tulsa has a lot of direct flights. Just an idea |
Just a thought...but what if we had 3??? One East, one West, & one Central?? I know that me being in the central that I cannot travel to the east or west side of the country anytime soon so having one in the central would be nice. Just a thought.....:p |
I would be afraid that even with two, one location might not have a big turn out or as many vendors - especially those from YT (which are the ones I want to see). They might get burned out even w/ one a year. Two might be pushing it.....three would be nice (especially if one can be in Central US), but that is really pushing it! Wishful thinking! Ha! It would be nice.....I agree.......I would just be SUPER excited to have one in the Central US!! Wouldn't that be the BESTEST EVER???!!! I'm thinking of some more places: Missouri: Branson, Springfield, St. Louis, Joplin Kansas: Oklahoma: Tulsa Arkansas: Bentonville, Hot Springs, Little Rock, Are there any other Central big cities??? |
Central sounds more practical for all concerned, people in the east don't have so far to get to the west coast and people on the west coast wont have so far to go either.............HOWEVER ;) I'm not practical when it comes to the "best" location. Living here in CA. I feel I'm on a permanent vacation and you can count on camping near the ocean and not worry about bugs, rain, heat or humidity. It's perfect! :D |

If you know when your going to camp and make reservation in advance it's no problem. I think most want to go into a dog friendly motel anyway. It would be a problem to camp for the ones who have to fly in. They can't lug all the camping items. :rolleyes: |

As much as I would love to meet all. I personally couldn't do either. Sorry guys. I'm sure you know that everyone wouldn't be able to attend anyway no matter where you have it at. But, I'm sure you already knew that. VA or WV is about as far up the East Coast that we go. Every year or so we go to DE but only because our son and granddaughter live there. Two would be great as long as they were at different times so some could attend both. Indiana does have the Indianapolis International Airport. We had a Yorkie Meet-up at Eagle Creek Park and it was beautiful there. |
I'm not going to submit a vote, because I seriously doubt I'd be able to attend, no matter where it is. However, if it were a time that I *could* attend, I probably wouldn't be able to travel east OR west (like someone else said), so central would be good. But I like the idea of having 3... east, west, and central.... :D |
I vote two. Otherwise If it's a long distance i doubt I'd be able to come. |
If it is central, I might could come (drive) but not sure about East/West. That would require flying & then would have to choose which one to go to. |
It's hard to make it convenient for everyone. While 'the middle' of the country sounds good, most of the people in the U.S. live in the coastal states. Maybe as someone else mentioned, (3) meets would be best...a west coast, east coast and 'middle' gathering. |
I like the idea of One central location. I know most of us are along the east or west coast, but I would like to see just one big YT meetup :) I just don't know of any specific dog friendly locations... It looks like Jenn218 has some good suggestions :) |

For those of us with more than 1 baby flying would be difficult since you are only allowed 1 dog per passenger. Unless you had someone going with you I guess. I would hate to have to make the decision of bringing Simon or Hallie if I had to fly :( |
