It depends on the weather and what I have going on. Today I wanted to walk him, but I had to work after school and just got home about 20mins ago. After standing on my feet at work, and it being so late, I don't want to take him now. If the weather is nice and I have time before work/school or after, then I take him. Plus my friend who lives down the street usually takes him for a walk once a week, and if my bf has time he'll take him. |
Bump! |
Everyday once a day unless it is winter and cold or raining |
we just got back from a hour walk and the girls just do great on their walks! |
Bump! |
Lola & Sophie hate walks! They do not want anything to do with a leash or collar. We have a huge backyard and they are outside running around out there most of the day! |
i take my to walk every day.they love it. |
Now that i live back at home..they hardly ever go on walks but they run in the backyard all day long! now when i lived in the apartment..they got a mile and a half walk every day |
I have a huge backyard that mine play in everyday!! My border collie chases a ball and they chase her, so she excercises them for me. Usually by the time we go inside they take an afternoon nap and wake up ready to eat a good dinner!!! |
Weather permitting, they get a 45 min walk most days. They walk really well on the leash now, but it took a lot of practice. On days they get walked, they crash after dinner and sleep till the next morning! |
Thanks guys! Anyone else? |
So far Roo refuses to walk on her leash! We take her out usually once a night and let her run with us on the driveway (we live out in the country so it's long and she can't even make it the whole way down the driveway without getting tired!). Although, she hops and skimpers more than she walks- she's so good though- without a leash she still just follows along behind and never tries to go anywhere she's not supposed to- if we get too far ahead she gets all excited and winds up for a run to catch up! So cute =) |
How old is your little Roo? I would love to see her trying to catch up...must be so funny!!! |

I have a fenced in yard. I go out on the deck and Mojo runs around the yard and plays with Koda (my great pyranese) They are pretty good buddies. but he doesnt really need to be walked he runs around in the yard. |

Walking :animal-pa I take my little Bella for at least 3 walks a day during the week and 4 to 5 walks a day on weekends. They are not always long walks. On weekends we usually go to the ballfields down the street and she runs around and socializes with all the kids there. She just adores kids. She loves to be outside except when it is really cold or really wet. Jay :animal-pa |
Cody and I do 3 laps around my apartment in the morning. we go for another walk sometimes in the afternoon. and we go in the evening.. then we wind down by playing in the yard. and we go in . |
i put OTHER because i Usually walk Skoshi almost every day for however long he feels like going. he usually gets tired and i have to carry him lol! but since we got Kiele and I have to wait till she gets all her shots ( including parvo and rabie) we havent been walking him but have a huge backyard and i will take them out there and let them play (supervised). I know its not the same as walking but i cant chance my other pup getting Parvo. We love our walks and now that she just got her 3rd shot the vet said we could take her now. But it kind of sucks because now its winter! |
We walk at least three or four times a week, but it's just around the block. I didn't start until about two weeks ago though, when the weather cooled down some. |
I been trying to take Aurora for a walk once a day but she is in her stroller. She gets her exercise running around the house like crazy. She is always playing. |
Other... I said Other only because it so varies! We havent walked at all this week but we chased each other around my backyard like he is a wild animal. I have nice size yard thats fenced in so he can go out there and run till he cant run anymore, lol |
I put other. I dont walk them only when we take them out and about, like to town or the park or lake. and we dont go a whole lot. They do get evening drives through the country every day Hubby has off. and they love that. We have 5 acres and I go out and sit while they run around like crazy, then they potty and we come back in. |
I try to take MeMe for a walk at least once a week... Though she gets constant excersize from playing fetch and chasing my daughter up/down stairs :) |
Too many irresponsible dog owners near me and they get out and most seem to be large dogs. A yorkie was attacked Saturday and killed by an Australian Sheppard near my house. Its a very nice neighborhood just too many dogs....I never walk mine we run and play fetch lots in my back yard. Im too fearful. |
About 3 times a week, I know... I'm a bad mommy!! |
Koda gets a lot of outside run time. Beside the running foolishly all day inside the house so we do a walk or 2 a week |
I walk Rommie everyday for at least one mile. I try to tire him out, but it doesn't work. I am thinking of increasing our walk to 1.5 miles.... |
We walk 5 days a week in the afternoon ... but only because I have to get my daughter from the schoolbus .... :D |
my girls love love to walk..in the summer/spring time, we walk them outside 2x a day for a mile in the morning and a mile at night..on the weekend, we take them hiking which is longer..they can go on and on..lol..now that the weather is sooo cold, i put them on the treadmill with me and we do a mile in the morning and a mile at night. Now that we are moving back to NYC in a few weeks, i know they'll be getting a lot more walking time! |
