| I have two Yorkies! One is a spayed female (not show quality), named Angel who is the princess of the house. And one intact male (show quality) named Romeo who is currently showing. I LOVE this breed and want more!! But I want to show my own home bred dogs some day so I am taking the time to get into the ring and get to know a couple responsible breeders that will mentor me. |

| How many? I have had as many as 27 Yorkeis. I did not work and all I did was groom/clean/feed and play with them. Then I downsized to my 8 I have now..2 are retiring and going to live with family by the end of the year, so it will only be 6.. |

| numbers That was when I was showing. I had about 4 litters a year and was very bad about keeping anything that caught my eye..many caught my eye needless to say. I am much more level headed now. |

| 27 Yorkies?? ... 13 Yorkies?? ... How do you avoid being licked to death?? Toto is so time consuming ... I can't even imagine having two! If I had that many I would have Yorkies hanging off every limb!! More power to you ... I admire anyone being that BRAVE!! You all must be superhuman!

| YorkieRose ... We have much in common! I have raised two children as "only child" because of the huge gap in their ages! Christopher first ... then My Amanda who is 25 and jealous of my now "only child" Toto!! I too was a perfectionest ... just can't help it! But ... who says you can't "teach an old dog new tricks?" ... we now live with toys strewn from one end of the house to the other and instead of picking them up a bzillion times a day or restricting them to the "play room" ... I pick them up about once a week!! Also, when Toto wants to be held, regardless of what I'm doing, I put everything on hold and she naps in my lap! I amazed family and friends, when Toto was very small and we were so "scared" of her, by moving all the furniture from the dining area of the large family room and setting up "puppy central"! Two X-pens containing dog beds, eating/drinking area, wee wee pad area and toys everywhere! Now that Toto is older and trained, I have greatly reduced the size of the X-pen and now just keep dog bed, eating/drinking area and wee wee pad area ... works out well and I still have a small area to restrain her if she has to be left alone for a short period of time! I also have room in the dining area for furniture again! Works really well! I am no longer quite the perfectionest ... I am a Yorkieholic!! Life is good!!

| Bettyeanne - never again will I feel guilty about only tidying up the wall to wall toys once a week or so!! Thank you!! LOL Not that I'm ever that tidy but realised that my Gypsy Rose certainly ISN'T! If I know I'mm having visitors I do a quick tidyup but "Madam" finds this hysterically funny (well she doesn't see me do it often-- ) and goes all out to get even more toys out than before. I have a two tier veggie rack in the living room for the toys, easier for her to get out than just one container - just ask for trouble don't I?!! Ana xx I would love LOTS and LOTS of yorkies if I could!! |

| Ana ... the only time I really regret having not picked up Toto's toys is when I walk in the house at night without turning on a light!! Nothing is more startling than to step on a "squeaky" toy in the dark!!!
