over protective? are you over protective of your yorkie? I am ...Very. |
I am also. My hubby tells me that Im nuts. I told him, is not crazinest is LOVE! ;) :) :D Im the same way with my skin kids, so it wouldnt be any different with my fur kid. :p |
Yes. I was with Muffin and I am with Kacee, too. They are helpless, so someone needs to watch over them very closely. They depend upon us to protect them. They trust us to do so. |
Yes to that one...I drive my bf crazy with the way I am with Lady...when people come over they think I'm nut cause I'm always worrying about what in her mouth, make sure the door is closed, I'm sure you all know the routine |
Oh yeah! Although they're so little they need protecting. Maybe we're all just diligently protective- not over protective. Just giving our babies what they need and deserve.:) |
Both my husband and i are over protective. They can't fend for themselves, so we do it for them. They trust us, and depend on us. |
VERY, VERY, VERY lexi is all i have |
yes I'll admit it I am a bit overly protective. |
Extremely! Since Cali was so sick as a puppy I am overprotective. Also, it seems like every time I do let go a little and take her out she gets sick! |
My response to the thread was No. not at all, I let them be dogs but that needs to be qualified. I do pet and spoil them and protect them when they need to be protected. However, I DO allow them to be dogs -- they get to do fun stuff like roll in horse poop, and go to the barn and chase the barn kitties.... But on the other hand, I am obsessive about making sure that they eat enough, and are protected from things that will harm them..... |
When Mini was a baby alot more so ..folks just did'nt know how wiggly she was and would not look out for her if she was on the ground so I was always running behind her to keep her safe , now haha I won't let anything hurt her but let her find her way lol like walking on stones near water ect .. I know she'll be allright and I am nearby . |
My parents always bust my chops about what not to feed Baby. So my dad always says, "I gave her a little chocolate today." Kidding of course, or I'd have to beat his little hiney! LOL |
Im overprotective of Gracie! ppl prolli think its crazy but! i just cant risk anything you know have to protect my baby! |
no choice We all know what a vet cost so a smart pet owner will keep there pet safe so we can spend more on important things like pet bags bows clothing blankies ha ha ha |
i'm extremly protective. he's my baby. i don't have kids so he's all i have. |

Hahahaha, YUP! Why spend $300 at the vet when I avoid it and instead buy him a new bag! I'm not too overprotective of Rocky, but I am cautious with him. It's no fun to be overprotected! I was so glad my parents weren't overprotective of me, so I'm not going to be that way with Rocky. He's gotta live a little! |
I am a little over protective of Gucci, I baby her especially since she was sick and operated on. I just love her toooo much... I am the same with my kids...I smother them with my love lol....What can I say Im a lovable mama lol |
I am very protective of Maggie, when she was 12 weeks she choked on a treat and stopped breathing, went unresponsive and I did rescue breathing. I ended up sticking my finger down her throat, she came back to me, but now I panic whenever I think she may get something and choke again. |
Yeah, I've crossed the line to overprotective. I think I realized it last weekend when we went camping with a friend who breeds chesapeake bay retrievers, you know, working dogs. You should have seen her reaction when I unfolded the Xpen to keep them from wandering off, then hopped in to keep them company. Of course, then I put on their Woolrich parkas, and yes, at night jammies for the tent. When neither one would eat, I pulled out the Nutri-Cal so they'd have some calories to fend off the cold. When they got tired of walking, I picked them up. But is that overprotective -- or adequately protective? Hmm.. |
I said somewhat. Because I totally let my guys run and play, and eat poop, oh yeah and roll in dead sheep! (Well I didn't let Dougal do that - I was actually pretty annoyed about it that cos he STUNK!) But they have coats for when it's cold - well Dixie has a whole wardrobe but that's more spoilt than protected! :p I try to keep them on the ground around other dogs but I always watch what they're up to. (I think the big dogs are in more danger from my two actually - Dougal really loves a challenge!) My vet however must think I'm a complete worry wart! When Dixie went in for her annual jabs I was asking question after question - but she put my mind at ease. Dixie is a picture of health! |
Im pretty sure most of the people I know think Im nuts, but Ill admit it Im obsessed with my dog. I still let him run around and have fun but I get nervous when a stranger wants to hold him (he gets extra wiggly) or if someone wants to give him a treat but its huge (he tends to try and swallow treats whole sometimes:) ). I dont have any skin kids so Pete is definatly my one and only child, I just want him around forever:p . |
when you have a 2lb baby, you have to be!!!!!!!! |
I am extremely over protective, BUT my husband is EVEN MORE SO... |
this is all interesting to know because my family says they are starting to worry about me. LOL . I think my grown children are jealous. they were never treated this good. I will admitt to that. being spoiled and over protective are 2 different things. but ......I have to admitt mine are both. |
Yes mam' I am! lol :p |

ditto.... |
I'm sure our friends think I'm a little nuts when it comes to my yorkies. (Do I care? Hell NO!). But I'm very careful with them, and I admit I'm overprotective at times. I make no excuses. It's all done out of pure love. :aimeeyork |
OF COURSE I'm overprotective! :p :p :p |
I would have to agree that I am overprotective too. I get so offended when people don’t treat her as I think they should. I’ve almost gotten in fights over it  ...:D |
I am just always worried that someone is going to step on Sophie. It is a paranoia I think. Either that, or I have just read too many horror stories. I also now will not let her jump off the couch even though it is only 1 1/2 foot drop LOL:p |
