Both of my girls are high maintenance!!! But I wouldn't have it any other way...they let me know what they want to do when they want to do it! I love to see them happy and will try to do whatever I can to make them that way!! |

Maybe they are not that high maintence we just give them the love they demand? We do not leave them tied up in the backyard to bark at the wind driving the nieghborhood nuts. Only going out to see them when it is feeding time. We love our babies so we pamper, spoil and dote on them. I believe you either love you pet to death(treating it like family, your kid) or you have an animal(lives chained to the dog house). We treat them the way we do beacuse we want to!! |
I really do not think that Mojo is very High Maintenance, but he isn't Low either. I think Yorkies (probably any small breed dog) are prone to being spoiled and loved so much by those that they "own" and therefore, we go over board with them and think they are High Maintenance. I don't know..........Mojo does demand attention, has cute and funny ways of letting me know things, a picky and spoilt eater, etc...........who can blame them though.............they are just so darn cute and boy...those eyes! You just can't help but want the best for them.....resulting in them wanting the best and demanding perfection.....making them high maintenance?! hee,hee I don't know what I did those years without a Yorkie and I would not change a thing about them! Okay.....maybe a few minor things (training), but once you have that bond, even potty training doesn't bother you! |
My boys aren't high or low maintenance...I guess they fall somewhere in between. They aren't demanding about it but they do enjoy being spoiled, they have a lot of toys and bones but that's a necessity for any fid and they do have several beds and blankies around the house but that's so I don't have to drag them from room to room. I love my boys...high, low or somewhere in between...Yorkies are for me! |
Shoot - I voted before I read the post lol...My girls are Over the top High Maintenance.....The whole house revolves around them and their comfort and I love every minute of it. I have a cocker spaniel Tessa and poor girl just sits in amazement sometimes at how busy the Yorkie girls are....and just continues to do her cocker thing...SLEEP. |
YES, YES, YES HIGH MAINTENANCE!! I know I'm not feeling well, but I'm ready to kill all three of mine!! Bell and Lilly went swimming in the pond the other day. Bell 's coat is so badly matted I had start to shave her down to the skin line (almost) I don't have enough energy to finish the job, so she looks hideous!! Lilly just smells real bad and Petey has been peeing on every throw rug in my house!! They must all know I can't do anything about it right now!! So I vote Yes High Maintenance!! And Spoiled and Rotten, So now I find myself asking Why do I love these three so much!! Maybe because they wouldn't leave my side for the first two days I was laided up in bed!! |
Very high maintenance, for sure! Baths and grooming and bows and bandanas and treats and cookies and special food and cheerios and toys and toys and throwing toys over and over...yes, I vote, adorably high maintenance!!! |
Of course Chloe is high maintenance!! I wouldnt have it any other way, lol ;) |
I'd say Jersey is about the same as my other babies. Jersey is a sweet dog, she goes with the flow and isn't very demanding, as long as she gets some attention she is fine. The clothes and bows and all that stuff are for my benefit ONLY lol Jersey hates all that stuff. My only high maintenance furkid is my English Mastiff. I spend more on feeding him in one month that I do all my other pets combined (three other dogs, 5 Parrakeets and 1 Green Cheek Conure) in 6 months. Pet meds are always more...plus we had to buy a bigger vehicle just to haul him around lol! Now thats high maintenance :D |
Hmmmm... When Wosie broke her leg, oh yeah, baby, that was high maintenance, but since then I think other than playing, feeding, and grooming, which you have to do for any breed, I agree with Claire. Our pups fit into our life a lot easier than larger dogs do. |
Sort of... Raja is high maintainance, but he doesn't mean to be :) I am dealing with the common hypoglycemia, because he's only 1lb 14 oz; and forcing him to eat every 3 hours because he hasn't gotten an appetite yet... other than this, he hasn't gotten demanding... yet. I can't help but spoil my little boy <3 |

I voted also before I read the forums postings, we always had Dobermans up untill last March and to me ours were High Maintenance, boarding occasionally, many times cats coming into yard and oh boy, vet bills big time, however the cats :( then our one got bit by rattle snake that was a big time vet bill. Loved the Dobermans though and would have one today if hubby didn\'t have PD. I Can\'t say our Cassie was high maintenance, all the years we had her, she was so easy to take with us everyplace, she wasn\'t demanding but was right there whereever we was all the time. I did all her grooming. Baby Blessing is too young to really say. However when it comes to eating I would say she is high maintenance cause she is the pickest eater of any dog we have ever, ever had, and to the point that she has me so trained -----hand feeding her. Ugggggh which I gotta figure out how to break this habit. I think I have bought every very good food availeable. I voted and thought the maintenance question was regarding expenses incurred in having one, so therefore I voted low maintenance. The love and attention I don\'t consider maintenance, to me those are just the many joys and pleasures that they give to us and we to them in return. Gosh, be it low or high maintenance yorkies are the most precious and worth it all. In fact we are now looking to get Baby Blessing a sister. |
High Maintenance!!! Agree!! High maintenance ~ Yes!!! But loving it!!! Would not have it any other way!!!! |
