I voted !

We joined in our first ever GE this past March and was overwhelmed by the enjoyment of the whole thing. It was so much fun and at the end of the situation we found ourselves in my girl Ruby Bella ended up having a GE that we will never forget. But the best part about it was finding new friends who we have continues to interact with here and outside of YT !!

I would hate for someone to miss out on experiencing that because they feel that the $ limit was too much. The way I see it, it is about self control and not trying to overdue it. Its about the gift of giving and not a contest of whose gift was better than the others. Its about quality not quantity oh and of course, its all about out Babies !!

That being said the generosity of the member who participate far exceeds anything that I could ever imagine. But for those who have never participated in a GE before may be more willing to do so if a cap on spending was applied. A set amount within standards set in the guidelines would be appreciated for those members like myself who are on a fixed income and don't always have the means to be so generous with our gifting. Its not that I don't want to but its harder for someone like myself to spend a lot of money but still wish to be part of the fun and gifting experience.

It only take one GE here on YT for someone to feel the LOVE of its members ! :D

This right here is EXACTLY why this poll is being taken and hopefully can help Admin make a decision about the future direction of th e GE. Thank you so much for your input!

See, I don't know what the normal amount is. I looked on the GE section a few months ago, or maybe when I 1st joined YT, and didn't see an amount. That's when my uncertainty set in. I didn't want to offend anyone by spending the wrong amount (high or low), so I skipped joining.

Thanks for your input especially b/c I never thought about those of you on a fixed income which I should have since my husband makes salary. So, when I wasn't working.... That would really be similar to a fixed income.

I don't think a cap will work people are still gonna spend what they want to spend but they should also have to agree to terms that just because they spent $100 on there buddy doesn't mean that there buddy has that money to spend.

How about price brackets instead of a cap?
Set some price brackets like 10-20, 30-50, 100-150, 200+, and doesn't matter.
Or set them up like 10+, 20+, 50+, etc. so the person can go as high as they want with the understanding that they may only get something worth $x in return.

Then when a person signs up they can say which bracket they want to be in.

This way people won't feel bad about not spending enough, and people won't feel cheated.

There would also need to be a way to value home made items.

There is one around christmas time already but just maybe the lowest amount could be applied to that one specifically. There's no cap but a minimum of $40.00. If you have any more questions.... please don't hesitate to ask.

I see where the cap is 40.00 or whatever one wants to spend. :). I should have read the rules section of GE before posting.

IMO, 40.00 seems a little low, 1 cloud nine bed and your done! :) Just saying... <--- as you can see, I'd have gone over that amount easily!

For members outside of the USA, maybe we can say we're willing to have a non usa member as a buddy ( to admin so it stays a secret), and we know that shipping will cost more than a USA buddy would. I'm sure others wouldn't mind, and maybe it would only be IF a buddy near them couldn't be found. (as a last resort).

Zeus does not talk baby-talk like the majority of the Yorkies here. :) He has his own voice which we do at home. He speaks in third person and refers to everyone as The ___. I.e., The Mama, The Bald Man (instead of Daddy ha ha), The Thalia.

He also "speaks" in staccato. "I am. The Zeusy. And The Zeusy. He loves The Mama. And he loves to sit. On The Mama's lap while she. Is on the machine. That takes the attention. Of The Mama."

It has just evolved over time, lol!

Hehe... I have noticed The Zeusy language and the way you guys talk to him from your videos. BTW.. I LOVE it!

I'm not aware of shipping out of the US or whatever but I think the rules try to cut down Admins work into the GE.... please correct me if I'm wrong?

This is actually a very good idea to think about! Didn't even think of brackets. Admin - something to think about, no? :)

Just to be clear, the cap is not $40. That is the minimum. There is not a cap, currently. That's why we are polling to see if people think there should be one.

I also like the bracket idea :)

Cindy and myself were in the March GE...we are both in Canada...the shipping was a little higher, but and I think I speak for Cindy as well...we had a great time! Not sure what you mean by a GE outside of the U.S.? Lost me on that one....

Are you asking me when you ask about "a GE outside of the U.S."? I may have missed something if not. In my earlier post, I mentioned a GE would be nice outside of the US and Canada. Some people are in Austrailia, Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, etc...those are the ones I was referring to..hoping we could someday have a GE that would include those other countries. :)
