i hate yorkies with hair longer then them |
I prefer to keep their hair short because it is easier to maintain. However, when its colder outside I tend to let it grow for a little extra warmth. My doggies look the cutest after a nice short- do. |
I love to see the one's with long, beautiful hair! I groom my own and I usually seem to try something a little different every time! Right now I have his hair shorter on top, but he still has a medium length "skirt". Lets just say since its winter...we have a lot of sweaters and coats! I am new to this site and I'm not sure if my pics loaded! I have a couple questions I wanted to ask....and I can't figure out where/how to add them! I love Yorkie's, I had a female (Bella) who was a year old and she was hit by a truck about 4 months ago:cry:. Shortly after her death I got a male yorkie...is it ok to put bows in his hair?!:confused: |

There are size restrictions. so this may be another reason why your pics may not load. And I totally think that its ok for male yorkies to wear bows. I've seen some really cute blue ones! |
We have kept Nicco short because his coat is cottony. But I just ordered some PEK conditioner, which is supposed to work miracles and I plan to grow it out to a more in between length. Can't wait to try this conditioner! |
Actually it varies as to the time of year... During the Summer months, it gets VERY hot and Humid here, and I have both of mine trimmed to a #7 body, but leave their Tail very long, and moderate length to Facial Hair. Final cuts are in August, and I let them grow out till April or May. |

I've learned (through trial & error) to cut Princess' hair myself. I try to keep it about an inch long or so. She used to go to the groomer's faithfully but one day I arrived & they didn't know it....they hit or otherwise hurt a dog that nipped at them from the sounds of it, she'll never go back! The only thing I can't do is clip her nails--she becomes so unruly that several people couldn't get it done, so I have to find somewhere to take her for that. I bathe her every weekend (which she hates) and try to brush her every day or two (which she loves). I also think I'm going to attempt to use clippers on her this summer, I love that look, too! |
Short Haired Yorkie Right now my Yorkie, her name is Mukki, is in the hospital, but she is doing better. I prefer short hair. let the show dogs have the long hair, lol. :) |
