That might be a perfect way right now to help the situation. It is probably hard to sell pups these days anyway....but I am sure you would not want to place one in a home that could not afford vetting expenses. Some of you did just that. . .which proved my point. There are those who can answer just the question and are willing to provide answers and there are those of you who take it one step further by adding such harsh, judgmental words or just plain contempt instead of just answering the question !

My hope was that by bringing this to your attention people may think twice about how they approach the question. An OP shounldn't have to go into every little detail and aspect of there life situation before a member deems them worthy of a respectful response. I would hope that it could be managed with a little more grace and kindness. But, Oh well I tried.

I got a lot of input and reasonable responses from you with some very valid points. Others just didn't get it . . .

I'm not talking about this thread, I am referring to a percentage (NOT All) replies to OP's questions that they seek answers to here on YT. Please don't think that I am not talking about YT in general. That is not the case in any way. I totaly enjoy spending long hours here in the YT community. Why else would I make myself a target by starting this thread.

Belive me, I dont like conflict in any way. Thats not who I am. In my life I run the other way. I try to live a drama free life. But I do care enough to listen, and I am very opinionated and straight to the point. I dont coddle or beat around the bush. But underneath all of that I am a very caring person. Although that may be up for debate right now !!

I'm not sure why I cant be that way here. I guess maybe I just dont want to be labeled one of those people . . . uhh uhhh, not me. "Call me fake" (I really hope you dont) but whatever. I just cant do it. I would rather get my point across in the most respectful, kind hearted way as I can.

That being said, by starting this thread I now understand a bit better why some members reply in the manner they do. I get it . . .but, I may have never known if I hadn't asked !

I honestly wouldn't describe myself as real caring. I care about my family, my pup.....I'm not one of those warm fuzzy people that will always hug you when they see you. That's just not me....so my posts probably won't come across as all warm & fuzzy either. I hope that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to post.

Every post is part opinion. Even just posting a link is telling the OP you think xyz is wrong and this may help. That's an opinion. Frustration with inadequate veterinary care and inexperienced breeding is not a bad thing.

...because only answering what is asked is not going to help that person or their dog in the future. And if somebody gets there in time to tell a poster that breeding their 3lb, 6 month old is wrong, maybe they will listen. Perhaps they didn't ask if it was a good idea, but it is certainly in the best interest of the dog to bring up this point. Posters are guided to vets and that is what we know to do. If we know exactly how to fix a problem, most of us won't say so. It is ethically wrong.

What if . . . just for once when someone comes to us for our help and those of us who have the answers give them freely and those of you who only have harsh, unkind, opinionated, judgmental words to say Just Dont !!

I think we've been over this one enough. But most of us do give answers to the best of our ability. Being persistent does not mean that somebody doesn't have the right answer and being kind doesn't mean that somebody does have the right answer. I've read many a kind response from well meaning people who think they are right, but are medically wrong and could seriously injure or kill a dog with their advice. I'm not saying this never happens when somebody says something sternly, but that kindness does not equally correctness.

Too many time I have seen members leave YT because of the harsh opinions of other member. They go away without the knowledge and information they came here for. Information that could have make a deference. I know because I was also judged when I first came to YT, and It frustrates the hell out of me. There are so many times when members will judge others so harshly but do nothing to help them.

I feel good when I log off at the end of the day knowing that I was able to help someone. That when I come here I can offer my experiences as a pet owner and yes a breeder to those who need it. I try very hard to leave my opinions to myself unless asked. I am also very happy to take from YT member the knowledge that I have gathered during my time here on YT and I can admit I learn something new every day.

So, why is it so hard to give other that same respect and knowledge that they seek when they come to us for our help ?
