Favorite HoLiDaY??? What is your favorite Holiday and why? (list reasons you love it so much :p ) |
I  Christmas time so much because: 1.)Family 2.)Music 3.)Food! 4.)Gifts 5.)Christmas trees 6.)break from school 7.)smells (Christmas tree, cinnamon, etc.) 8.)weather! I'm sure there's more but I don't really remember it all! lol |
I LOVE Christmas!! for pretty much the same reasons as you, Megan. :p I also love going up to my cousin's farm just past New Hope in PA. She travels too much, so there's no animals, but its sooo pretty. Especially when it snows!! And her house is huge so there's a lot of room, which keeps my many cousins from following me around all day. :D And i LOVE getting presents, perfect! |
I love the music, sounds of people laughing, and smells. who wouldn't love the smell of cinnamen, bread baking, and goodies galore?! |
xmas is my favorite cause at my at 43 yrs old, i still get load of presents from my mom. at least 13 under the tree.. yes im spoiled , and now its lexi's turn. i also love to give, give ,give... |
Christmas is my absolute favorite! I love the decorations, the baking, and just the smells of Christmas! |
Holiday I love Easter...He is Risen and the tomb is empty! |
St. Patrick's Day for sure!!! South Side Irish of Chicago tradition. I don't mean to sound snobby, but you have to see it to believe it :p There's no use trying to describe it in words. When I was younger, Christmas EVE was definitely my favorite. As years progress, the "season" starts earlier and earlier and it totally turned me off to it. |
My birthday, because it's in August and we celebrate all month!!! ( I've always said it's all about me! hehehe) And then Anniversary month is September, so they just kind of flow into 2 months of celebration!!! Since my hubby doesn't like to celebrate his b-day, and our families are so scattered they are our only consistent traditions. |
Christmas for sure because it lasts the longest and the "spirit of Christmas" is so positive and inspirational!! I decorated my house with red because I love Christmas decorations and I just move right into Valentines day which is red and after Easter, my house is very patriotic red, white, and blue from Memorial day to flag day to 4th if July and labor day!! |
I like Thanksgiving because it's just about family getting togethre and no presents to buy! |
I love Xmas cause is about family, the celebration of Jesus birth, i love the food, the decorations and see my kids faces on xmas morning. :) |
I love Easter...He is Risen and the tomb is empty! __________________ Amen Pat! He is Risen!!!!! |
There needs to be a choice for voting on this poll as "none". |
I love Christmas and the whole enviornment that it brings!!! Not only is there family and friends, but everyone seems nicer and more relaxed during this time of year!!! |
As a kid, Christmas. As an adult, Halloween. Just seems like more pure fun. No pressure to find the perfect gift. It's not expensive or terribly commercialized, but you can make dozens and dozens of neighborhood kids happy. And costume parties can be fun for adults. Besides, I LOVE scaring kids. |
CHRISTMAS 1) Love 2) Family 3) :rain: Snow 4) :rofl28ib: Laughter and Happiness 5) :note2: Music and Songs 6) :giftbox: Giving and Receiving gifts of course 7) :cake: Cookies and Desserts 8) :jump28ib: Parties 9) :ip: Tree and Decorating |
Halloween has got to be my most favorie i'm not sure why i just love to decorate my house and i go all out the whole spider webs and all and then there is christmas it's almost a tie i collect christmas villages and i had to build a 10ftx4 ft table last year to hold them all and i love the warmth and giving this time of the year! |
Thanksgiving... Each year we have a large extended family reunion at a resort and there is NO gift giving/receiving which means there is no pressure, just good food that someone else cooks!!! |
Easter and Christmas Thank God for these two special days and HIS GREAT LOVE FOR US ALL. Easter and Christmas are very special to me. Patti |

:2party: :jacko: :cake2: :4lc: :heart79:  Wow...I really LOVE every Holiday! I try to go all out for everything. I do it so, that hopefully my kids will pass it on to thier kids. :ghug: :hearts6: I did vote for Christmas. I love how everyone seems to be in great moods. I love how everybody decorates, Bussiness's, Dept Stores ect. The diffrent scents. I really enjoy gift wrapping. I love cooking and feeding people. I enjoy our annual tree photo with my family....it's great fun! :p :goodpost: |
My favorite used to be Christmas but now it's Thanksgiving. Christmas was the time of year we spent with family (grandparents, uncles, cousins) because they all went "home" for the holidays. That was the one time a year my parents were sure to see their first cousins, many of who lived in other states. But now that my brothers and sisters and I have our own families and we live in different places, Thanksgiving is the one holiday a year that we are all together (my mom, my sisters, brothers, hubby, kids, nieces, nephews). We get the food (which I mostly cook cause we meet at my house), the compaionship, etc. And, because we aren't getting back together at Christmas, we exchange gifts at that time too (so it's kinda both holidays in one!). |
This one is kind of tough for me, because in my family.....we make a big deal over each holiday! We do fun things and gift baskets, cooking, spend time with family, etc for each holiday (no matter if it is Christmas or St. Patricks Day). We just love all holidays! My first choice (and the one I voted for) is Christmas. There is just something in the air and we are all just more relaxed and energized and over all happier and nicer. Plus, I love the smells (brings me back to my childhood at my parents house). I am a giver, so I love to give gifts (no matter what occassion and for whom), but I am the top that is a giver, not a receiver! My family is pretty family oriented, so we all still get together for fun in the snow, hot chocolate and just nice family time. Halloween would be my second because of the crisp clean fall air, the smells of fall and the fun of seeing everyone dressed up and getting candy! Again, we are a "holiday" family and pretty much everyone dresses up and participates in the festivities! I always have a big chili dinner and hayride and haunted trail at my house. Plus, tons of fun for the kids (scavenger hunts, and other fall fun). Thanks for this poll.......its fun to remember past holidays with my family! Can't wait....Labor is fast approaching, this is our family camping trip and my DH's birthday! Not to mention all the local craft/antique fairs! Can't wait! |
Christmas is definitly my favorite holiday and i can't wait for it to come this year because it will be Layla's first! Our family usually goes away somewhere for the holidays and it will be fun to bring Layla on her first plane ride! |
[F]I love Christmas for many reasons. Christmas Trees Smells and sounds Music Giving gifts Food Christmas movies People seem much nicer Spending time with family and friends[/FONT] |
Thanksgiving. Food and family without the stress of buying gifts and the excessive cost. I like Christmas but I think it has gotten way out of hand. When people are just exchanging gift certificates, it is down right ridiculous. Why not just exchange $50 bills. That way they don't expire or lose value. My daughter's in-laws pretty much do that. They draw names and each has a list of what they want and other than for the small children, it's mostly exchanging gift certificates. Does anyone else think that is dumb? |
