Do You Carry Your Dogs To Bed? Our nightly routine consists of 2 very sleepy boys being carried off to (my) bed from the living room sofa. If they haven't recently gone to potty I will first pick their sleepy heads up and carry them to the back door. I'm just curious who else carries their dogs to bed. |
I don't carry the big guys.. but I do pick up Sammy to put him on the bed (he is about 15 lbs) he does not seam to want to jump onto the bed lately. Remy.. well I will carry her, then if dh is still up she jumps off and runs downstairs to him. Hump.... lol |
When I go up to bed, I carry two of the pups up while the others "wait" for me. Then I have to go back downstairs to carry the other two up. During the day they're up and down the stairs anytime they want....duh.... |
When we go to bed all my canine babies go into their crates to sleep for the night. Everyone goes in as asked but Jillian. She just stands there and looks at me like "Mom I am so tired I just cant take another step" :D I go over and scoop her up, walk over to her kennel, and put her down right in front of it. She calmly walks in turns around and looks at me like "Thank you Mom you can shut the door now". We just recently tried 2 nights in a row of letting them stay out but our potty training is not 100 percent. That combined with the fact that first thing in the morning I am not 100 percent awake does not equal an alert person to miss accidents . We will try again soon. I would love for them to sleep with me. Our cats would prefer they stayed in the kennels. That is their run, play and be hyper time. :p |
No carrying or encouragement is needed with my two... Frequently, my Male Sneakers precedes us by a half hour or so. I don't think he cares much for the 10 O'Clock News. |
No. I would but Tibbe beats me to bed. |
Nope all of ours go to bed on their own. We have a routine they all know very well. We have the family room gated and at bed time we open up the gate and they charge out like race horses all racing to the other side of the house where the bedrooms are. Now comes the really cool part. Half of them sleep with me on my bed and the other half sleep with my mom on her bed. So when they reach the bedrooms they automatically divide up and go to their proper bedroom. We call it the great divide, lol. It is pretty cool to see. |
My two follow me to bed. No need to carry them!! :D |
I will carry mine if they are dead out. If they are not out when I get up from couch and go set the alarm, they know what time it is and run in my room. Josie jumps on bed, I have to pick Jack up. They sleep with me. |
Mostly every night when I say "let's go to bed", they jump up and go. But there are some nights when, if they've been asleep for hours already, they'll stay on the couch and look at me w/ pitiful puppy eyes like they're just too exhausted to move. :) |
All of our babies get tucked in at night. The 60lb big guy gets hugs. |
Teddi is way too little to get up on the bed so I have to pick her up and put her on the bed at nite and take her down in the morning. |
Little Lollipop and Tealie always beat me to bed. Right now I'm sleeping on the couch to keep Boo our elderly boxer company. She will be 15 on May 5th. She suffers from dementia and is losing control of her bladder. She needs to be close to the door so that when she needs out she can get out before she loses control. Not only that at night if it is too quiet and she is alone she wanders around the house and is restless - which keeps the entire household awake. So, I sleep on the couch with Tealie and Lollipop competing for my pillow and Boo sleeps on the loveseat. What we do for our furfamily! |
I carry mine because I don't allow them on the stairs. Usually they are napping, so I wake them up to go potty before heading to the bedroom. Maxman rides in "the boat," his doggy donut bed, and must be picked up first. He is so serious about it and looks like Cleopatra being carried into Egypt on her litter. :p Then I put Teddy under my other arm and he places his front paws on the boat. |
I carry one and the other three walk back on there own :) |
