How Heavy is Your Yorkie? If you have more than one, just use an average. :) |

I prefer my Yorkies with a little more meat on them! |
My Neesa (rhymes with Lisa) is just under 6 pounds. Definitely not a tiny one... |
Tiny but sturdy!! Toto is 3 lbs. but ... sturdy!! I was terrified of her at first [under 1 1/2 lbs.] and almost fainted the first time I bathed her!! Wet that hair and there was hardly anything under there!! :p We're over that now! We are still extremely careful and probably over-protective but at least not afraid of her! We have finally accepted what our breeder told us .... Yorkies are "Velcro" dogs and we quickly mastered the "walk" called the "Yorkie Shuffle"! We haven't regretted our decision for one second! :) |
size My 8 range from 2 3/4 to 6 1/2 pounds. |
Pat, if you ever need to place one of yours, you know where to find me ;-) |
Juliette is only 3 lbs. but far from fragile :D |
brownie is 2 years old and he weights almost 20 pds |
Toby is only 3 lbs, but hes still a puppy.... he should be 7-8 pounds full grown..... i agree with junebug, i like mine big, im always afraid i am going to squish teh smaller ones......lol |
When I bought my Bell I wanted a small one 4-5lbs, but Bell kept growing. Shes now 8.2 lbs(hopefully pregnant) but I wouldn't want her any other way. Shes perfect just the way she is. Maybe next time I'll have a smaller one! |
buckeye(4yrs) is 4 lbs ... ahia(9 mo.) is about 7 lbs. You made me curious so I weighed my self holding her and subtracted my weight and came up with 7 difference. So I did good with guessing. |
Max is 9 lbs right now. He was 7lbs last January. I have him on puppy food because of the baby. Could that be a weight factor? Gidget is 4 lbs at 4 months. The vet said she is almost done growing according to her growth plates.(x-ray) I figure maybe 6 lbs. |
Dean is 3.5 at 18 weeks, but vet thinks he might be older. She (vet) said he'll probably be 4-5 lbs. I wanted a small one too, but now Dean's here and I've seen how teeny he is, I'd be plenty okay with him if he gets a tad bigger than that. Rats and bats are fatter than our babies when they're wet! Gidgetsmom - I think feeding puppy food would increase weight in an older dog. Puppy food has like twice the calories and fat (ok -- maybe not twice -- but a lot more) than regular food. I have different foods for mine. I feed one first thing in a.m., take him out while the other is being fed her food (weight management food!) Dean, the Yorkie, has his own cafe in my bathroom right now. He takes care of his business on one side and eats on the other. It is very frustrating having to separate, but it's for the ultimate health of my pups, so I force myself to do it. 'Bout once a week I get real lazy though and just fill a bowl of puppy food and let 'em have turns ...Lol |
Trevor is about 3 pounds, but he's only 3 months old. He should be 6-7 pounds full grown. That's a great size... just like holding a newborn! Cyndie and Trevor |
Gucci weights 3.6lbs, and she will be 6 months jan 10. |
Higgins is one year old and weighs 6.5 lbs. All muscle, too! |
Dolce was 5 months on January 1st and she weighs 3 lbs 8 oz. |
Lilli Lilli is a year old and weighs 4 1/2 pounds and all of that is sweetness:) |
Chewy is 16 lbs and Sierra is 8 lbs. The big and little of it! lol  |
had to bring beaker to the vets today for his 3rd set of shots...... and he actually has lost an ounce sence his last visit, vet says he is perfectly healthy and eating well... he is almost 4 months old and weighs 1 lb and 5 ounces.... i do wonder how much weight he will gain full grown... |

Roxy is 2.7 lbs at 3.5 months. She should be about 5 lbs full grown :) |
Bella weights 10 lbs, and Keena weights 6 lbs. They are both sisters also. |
You need an "Under 2 lbs." option! Gracie is 1 lb. 4 oz. and she's almost 16 weeks old. |
Any truth to this? Milo is 1.8Lbs at 10 weeks. I read at 8 weeks you x 3 to get the weight at full grown and X 2 at 12 weeks. I was thinking he would be 'average' weight. I didn't sign up for a "T-cup" or "Toy". It really doesn't really matter to me. I just love him so much. |
Oops! I just answered my own question. |
Drake is 11 weeks and weighs 1.4 pounds! The lady I got him from said he would probably be between 2 & 3 pounds, so I guess I'll have to wait and see! He was the smallest of the litter! |
Bailey is around 8lbs. We are not disappointed in the least. In fact if we get another one we will definitely look for one over 7lbs. I am a little more comfortable knowing they is a little more margin for error in their little digestive systems, bones, etc. Bailey says hi to all. Samc |
Oops! Gracie has "ballooned" up to 2 lbs. at 16 weeks! |
My Yorkie " YOGIE " He is 2 yrs old and weights about 7.5 lbs. So lovable...He is definitely a lap dog. He has such a personality....have any of you Yorkie-owners noticed he/she laying flat on his belly on the floor and scooting backwards...Yogie does and not just a little bit....He can scoot across the room...He's so funny. I want to learn how to groom him...I have been, but it isn't just right, especially around his nose and mouth...I want to layer it like they do when they are pups. Any advice. ssmith in GA :animal-sm |
