Natural Balance Organic along with home cooking for four yrs with no problem at all. |
Eaglie Pack Holistic Puppy mini breed, has lots of great food and vitamins including fish oil and probiotics. Great for skin & coat ! Saw a huge improvement! |
Evo red meat, both kibble and canned. She also really likes the Solid Gold can that has lamb in it. |
I switched from Pro Plan puppy (what my puppy was eating when we got him) to Blue Buffalo puppy. It was rated an A+ & is organic. It's been only 2 days, but so far so good. |
I voted "other"... Bella, my T:aimeeyorkPot with Collapsed Trachea is on Canidae - Platinum (to keep her weight down) dry w/a tiche of some "wet" of the same. Abby & Phoebe are both on Canidae - Lamb & Rice...they also eat the wet & dry mixed together. Tink (my Senior Rescue:animal36Boy) recently started Innova - Senior-Regular (not the Plus) for the low Phosphorous levels which have helped completely stop his vomiting of bile! He also eats wet & dry mixed together, too. |
I feed Bobby Royal Canine kibble and carrot sticks, green beans, little bits of apple, pear, banana, salmon and lamb. When he is older (now just 5 months) I plan to home cook. I noticed Halo at petsmart yesterday and it looked interesting. Has anyone tried either their kibble (especially for puppies) or canned food? I'm thinking of switching from RC to it. |
Chester and Roscoe (my non-yorkie) have been on Natural Balance for a while. They all the different varieties! No wet food here. They each get half of one of the trial size Natural Balance dog food rolls as a treat every night. They go nuts over this stuff and I swear they'd jump through rings of fire. |
Hello! Hello everyone ~ I am new to TY. I absolutely love the site. So much to see and read. I would like a recommendation on food for my little one. After reading all of the posting about food, I'm thinking she should be eating something better for her. Thanks!! |
Bil-Jac, it's what their breeder, who breeds "showdogs" feeds her yorkies. When I got my two girls from her she did not tell me to feed them this food. I started to when I saw how they did on other food(s). |

Meg started (happily) eating kibble on a regular basis around 11 months old. I think something must have just clicked since she also stopped having accidents around the same time. She eats Welless "Core" and "Small Breed - Adult Health". She loves them both and goes back and forth between them as her favored kibble. I think she likes that the Small Breed kibble size is REALLY small - almost like cat food size. The Core is more chunky but still small enough for her to crunch on. Great poll! It's so interesting to read what everyone feeds. |
I am not sure where mine falls... I know its considered Holistic because thats where I get it at. I get Solid Gold for Roxy. The Just A Wee Bit. I felt good the other day cause a woman came up to me that was with Blue Buffalo and asked me what kind of food I fed her. I told her Solid Gold and she said "OH, you must be an ingredient reader, and a good owner!" and it made me feel really good, because I had a woman a long time ago at a pet store tell me that she wouldnt feed her that to her dog if it was dead... (I think she said this simply because their store did not carry the brand.) However, even though this woman didnt even SELL Solid Gold, nor did PetSmart she was at sell it. She said she knew it was one fo the top Holistic brands and she could tell because of Roxy's hair that she was being fed a good food. I really love the Solid Gold, and I believe it is good for Roxy. She doesnt poop too much, and I think its because she isnt taking in a bunch of filler. She usually poops once a day, nice and ... well, not meaning to sound gross, but theyre nice and firm. The woman I got her from had her on the Yorkshire Terrier Eukanuba, and she was having loose stool along with going 3 times a day. Plus she was eating more. Now she eats less, feels fuller, and doesnt go as much and when she does they look more healthy. I do have to admit though that sometimes, Roxy gets boiled chicken, steak, and she is a sucker for 1/4 of those new Cesar Bistro's. She really loves them after dinner. So, I give her a little spoon of it. Yes, I am a sucker for letting her enjoy it... but well... it doesnt seem to affect her bowels or anything and when she doesnt get an upset belly from the little bit I give her, and she has a tender belly. :) |
Lola & Raider are now eating Fromm Surf N Turf Grain-free. They absolutely love it, but it sure is stinky! I thought we better go with a grain-free food to help with Lola's yeast infections and itching. |
