How does your Yorkie wake you up? Does your Yorkie have a special way of waking you up in the morning? If so please let us know how by voting. Just wondered what was more common. Usually we wake him up, he's grouchy when he wants to sleep in! He has a hilarious yawn that carries on and on in the mornings. On weekends my Finnigan commando crawls up to our heads if he isn't already sleeping there and then licks our faces until we respond. |
All 3 of mine sleep with me and have different ways of waking me up: Hoku is the only one large enough to jump off and on the bed and knows that will wake me up immediately as I don't want her off the bed until I get out. Kalani walks up my body and gives me a kiss on the nose. If that doesn't work he sits on my tummy and whines. Pi'i sleeps curled up by my neck so he puts his paw on my face and gives little licks till I start laughing. I think they must take a vote on who's going to wake Mommy up each morning cause they never do it all together:rolleyes: |
Mine start walking around on the bed... then they just stare at me. I found that out by pretending I was asleep. Then, as soon as I move, they see who can get the closest to my face. :rolleyes: Then when I stretch.... they all start dancing around to go outside. :) |

Usually I am up before the dogs......... now Seymour will occasionally get up to go potty during the night, but he goes right back to bed. :rolleyes: |
I had to select other because each one does something different. Ginger pounces, Muffin isn't into mornings so I end up waking her, Skittles is the liker and Cupcake is the whiner. :rolleyes: |

Our weekend routine During the week I'm usually the first one out of bed but on weekends, Walker and I developed this little routine: he will lay across my neck, lick or chew on my ear and as soon as I start laughing will proceed to lick my entire face, wagging his little tail nonstop!:D The more I laugh the more he licks and waggs! I give him a good massage before we finally start the day and I have to admit that I look forward to weekends even more now. :D:yay_jump: |

When Sasha wants me awake, normally what she'll go is get up, stretch, shake (which makes her tags jingle really loud) and then sits and stares at me. If I don't respond to her, then she'll stretch again and stick her front paws on my chest, sniff my face and eventually lick me. |
KiKi sleeps in her crate that is attached to her x-pen in the bedroom across from ours...as soon as she wakes up...she will sit at her gate and whine until I get up!! Little stinker NEVER sleeps in either..but on the weekends...I get her up feed her and then she comes to cuddle/ sleep with us ! :-) I love the weekends! |

My lexie usually sleeps around my head, or she crawls into her crate, or sleeps by my feet, But everyday she jumps to the center of my room and gets into the " Hey, I wanna play" Position and grabs a toy. When she finally gets the message im sleeping she jumps on my head and starts licking me.:animal36 |
Both my dogs are crated in our room with blankets over the cage. Usually Grayson starts by wimpering softly but gets louder until I finally get up. However Abby is just as quiet as can be until her door is open. |

mine usually sleep till i do.. but when they wanna wake me up, Avery will usually lay on me looking at me in the face and lick me or just lay on me and sleep some more :p Gemma does the same thing, except she will climb on my head and give me kisses! :p or they also make that little growl/bark thingy to get my attention.. not a bark/not a growl.. something in the middle, ya know?! :D |

When I wake up my yorkie notices and licks my face. I like waking up to this because its the only time that he licks me so much...:) |
Waking up is a problem at my house. I work nights and Romeo likes to get me up @ 7am. I take a sleeping pill and have to conquer the stairs like a drunk to let him out. I know he can hold it. When he runs outside he is just squirrel hunting. He lifts his leg to pee and tiny drips come out. I call him the alarm clock. lol.. |
I move one muscle before the alarm goes off and the deal is on. Cocoa gives me little flick kisses, Rosie sticks her face close to mine and snorts, throwing something wet over me, and Snowboy sits on his hinny with his paws in the air, whining and drops his paws down on me. Chipper is under the covers and growls at anyone walking over him which is a daily occurrence.:D:D:D |
They all get up when daddy has breakfast. Then come back to bed with me until I crawl out of bed. Sunnie is usually on my pillow, Rocky is under me, Jack is next to me or on my legs. If I move like I'm waking up, Jack starts climbing on me and whining & Sunnie's rolling on her back on the pillow for belly rubs. Rocky does not get out of bed until I make the bed. |
Usually mine stay asleep and I have to wake them but lately, AprilLove has started waking me by doing her little bull kick :D, which, if I'm lucky she wakes all the way up then goes to the foot of the bed and does it, but most times she kicks me in the head because she sleeps on my head :) I LOVE her even if she kicks me in the head, lol. After I open my eyes, she'll pounce on my chest and give a few well placed select kisses and waggle her little butt to say welcome to the morning! |
sasha lays there staring at me and as soon as she sees me open my eyes fully, she walks up to me licks me and then gets down goes to the door and does her little potty dance ( she spins around in circles untill i get up) if i take to long she will whine but not very often. Sometimes She will just cuddle beside me and make me scratch her belly or chest. But after she gets me up to go potty shes ready to go back to bed which is funny cause she wont get in the bed by herself and she wont stay in it by herself if i get up she follows. Its so cute when she looks at with that little "mom what are we doing awake?" face lol |
Roxy likes to sleep in with me. But if I choose to REALLY sleep in, she will stand ON my neck and head (I sleep on my stomach) and bark at my head until I get up. She's just lucky she's so cute!! |
Mine don't sleep with us. So they bark when they wake up and we go get them. On the weekends though if we get to sleep in my son will bring Chloe into my room and put her on my bed.She has this little thing she does with her feet all the time. She takes just her back feet and scratches like a bull getting ready to run then charges me and licks my face ( or nibbles my nose :rolleyes:) it's so cute I can't help but want to snuggle her up :p My dh will pretend to be sleeping and she will sit on his chest and do her "bull move " and bark , he starts laughing everytime...It's like she knows how to get him laughing. |
Mine doesn't always wake me up but when he does he sits against my face (his butt really near my nose as I sleep sideways) which wakes me up really fast! Really, who wants to smell butts in the morning? When he doesn't want to wake me up, he just lie beside me and when he senses that I am ready to wake up or open my eyes..he will charge and start to lick my hands really fast and then stretches on to me. |
